I saw the interview, it’s been strategically edited here - he was just at a loss because she was simultaneously criticising him for being late and for bringing its launch forward. He nearly said to her I can’t win!

It has not been strategically edited, I could have posted the full length version of him laughing.

Its a valid question, given the reports of it not being ready to launch and the Cummings story. One that did not deserve a near 2 minutes of laughter from the Health Sec.

He was laughing despite being told of another missed deadline of mid May for the App. A deadline he set himself.

He was laughing at the awful Kay Burley this morning and probably justly so, at her questioning.
I think she was getting at him for moving too quickly when she had previously criticised him for being too slow. I think Hancock saw the funny side with Burley U-turning more than the Tories.

He is right to be questioned in both ways.

He was too slow to start contact tracing.

Given their starting point, he also may have brought track and trace forward before it was fully ready and why was that.

Track and trace is in now way shape or form ready. We can all pick holes in it. Without a mobile app to support contact tracing it is unworkable.

Exactly. It’s unforgivable that 11 weeks after stopping it, we still don’t have an up and running fully functioning track and trace system, despite everywhere in the world understanding the importance of track and trace and banging that message out for months now

On so many levels the Government have done appallingly throughout the past few months.

The laughing just does not portray a good image. I think it is being manipulated somewhat in that clip and the tweet.

They are continuing to bundle along with the virus management, but in this instance at least something may be in place. I'm glad im not in any at risk groups.
