Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka is looking for some "revenge" against Derby County.

Forest take on their arch rivals at Pride Park Stadium in the Sky Bet Championship on Monday evening (7.45pm).

Karanka's men are looking to bounce back from their 1-0 home defeat to Preston North End, which saw them drop out of the play-off zone.

They had been unbeaten in their previous seven league outings.

The manager is expecting a positive response from his players as they bid to get back on track.

“It is a good opportunity to bounce back, a good moment to have," Karanka told Nottinghamshire Live.

“We want to get some revenge following a bad day. Not a bad performance, but a bad day.

“I think, again, the score should have been 3-1 or 4-1 in this game, as a minimum.

“But after that defeat I feel absolutely sure that we will have a good reaction to that.”

Karanka has called on his players to show their mental strength against the Rams.

“It is not a case of the players having a point to prove, because they know how good they are," the Spaniard added.

“Ten days ago we spoke about the mental strength we had and about how that was amazing.

“Now we just need to show that again; we need to keep going in the same way.

“It was difficult for us to win two games and draw one in the space of a week previously. But we did it.

“I prefer to think in a positive way. I prefer to think that we are in a good way and that we will still see that in our next game.”

* Aitor was 6 managers ago at Forest >>>>>>

Derby started well, but Forest coming back in to it.....did I hear The Trent End singing 'Bust in the morning"? Thought Steve Gibson was the only one in football wanting Derby to go out of business? 😉

Just read that Brennan Johnson is the son of ex Forest winger David Johnson. Crikey it wasn’t that long ago that David J was playing - he was a young dad!
