Matchbox model of old boro

The DM article says its 8 foot by 8 foot.

I think it would be perfect to show people what the area was like. (at the old Town Hall)

I say a similar one of old Berlin in a museum there that the staff were really proud of, but this Boro one is much more detailed. Strangely the development of Berlin up to 1914 reminded me of Middlesbrough's development with very quick industrialisation from 1850-1900.

Steve's model I notice has the Talbot Hotel wasn't that where the Tripe Supper was to form MFC? The Riverside Stadium is closer to the Talbot then Ayresome Park.
It appears that the tripe supper story isn't true - a later fabrication - as Boro were actually formed from a meeting called by Middlesbrough Cricket Club in the gymnasium at the rear of the Albert Park Pub on Linthorpe Road. When you think about it, very hard to picture the gentlemen of the cricket team eating tripe in a pub in the middle of the town.

Brilliant. Needs to park it now its finished and get it displayed so the public can enjoy.... have a break and think about whats next....

MIMA perhaps
I've never understood why "model making" is not perceived of equal merit with "mainstream" art.

I'm in shock - no Tripe Supper

For 50 years I have been led a lie - next someone will say there is no Father Christmas

Ha ha yes no tripe supper - I am afraid. Perhaps it was too good to be trued.
Fly Me To The Moon celebrated a landmark with a proper tripe supper at the Linthorpe Hotel - we invited guests including Alan Peacock, Frank Spraggon and Rolando Ugolini - what a guest list.
