Its a little vague on how many will take part except there's one group and the top 2 play in a final.

They are looking at regional heats next year but given this tournament is being held on one day in Glasgow there will only be the four teams taking part

That was a totally different comp held in 2007 near the 02 Arena. Involved celebrities and fans playing too. We beat West Ham in the final. My mate played in one of the games.

IIRC it was the staple of Sportsnight and I'm sure it was normal players as well, none of this old people guff

I vaguely remember that. I think it was only when English clubs were banned from Europe? I think Boro were in them in the 88/89 season and got thumped.

Star Sixes was good 5 years ago, with international teams, saw Juninho, Rav, Mendi and Merson all tearing it up....well except Merson who was just too over weight but not as overweight as Bobby Carlos
