Masks Again

Masks reduce the risk of getting it, not negate it. They can also reduce the viral load you receive meaning your Covid infection may not be as bad as it could have been (according to the science).

Just because one wears a mask and catches Covid does not mean all masks are a waste of time.
Well said.

It's such a simple concept I can't understand why anti maskers can't grasp it. Some of them seem to deal in absolutes. As in, not wearing a mask you definitely spread covid, wearing a mask you definitely don't. It's simply a way of reducing the spread NOT stopping it. Like social distancing. You COULD catch a virus if you're 2m apart from someone but its less likely than if you are closer or touching. Now, wearing a mask AND social distancing? Yes please

People like absolutes unfortunately. Anywhere that uncertainty or grey area sits polar arguments develop or conspiracy theories.

Unfortunately much of life is a grey area, and in this information age that is ever increasing. Waters are ever murkier and murkier.

Certainly i'm not going near a Cappuccino now I have new information.

Absolutes make things easier to argue against I guess. It's just a shame people have to be like that and can't understand the fact that masks might help spread the virus (and, as an added bonus for the NHS EVERY virus) and therefore it's a good thing for society to wear them.

Bertrand Russel quote
‘The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts.‘

There are people who believe masks have an important role to play and there are those who believe they are of no use in stopping the spread of the virus.
Both are ok beliefs to have

lad on my facebook is now constantly posting stuff on there saying masks cause antibacterial pneumonia and shouldn't be worn at all. mad world we live in.

Viruses are millions times smaller than the perforations in any mask so it's inevitable that those who have the virus will spread it and those who don't have might contract it regardless of what kind of preventative measures they take (Mask and Visor). Maybe set sail on your boat and stay out at sea until the all-clear sign is raised from the WHO [lol].

In the last two weeks

Johnson goes to a factory, doesn’t social distance and doesn’t wear a mask
The Queen and her entourage go out to an indoor event with not a mask in sight
Now Hancock in a car without a mask

It’s as if those at the very top know something about masks that we don’t ;)
Add news personalities on the TV also.

I'm at hospital again, I was here on Sunday for surgery. All of the medical staff are wearing masks and asking the patient's to do the same at present.

Blinking medical experts, haven't got a clue. Why aren't the bar staff at my local boozer making the rules, save us all this hassle.
