Excellent news.. it's a good deal for everyone, looks like he's agreed to a proper wage cut with the caveat being we will have to pay him loads more next season if he plays well and we get promoted.

Perfect motivation for both sides.

Now if we could just scramble a couple of extra lads over the line swiftly that would be great cheers Neil.
 
It's a big credit to him that he played beyond his contract with us, and his crossing was starting to look very threatening.

I'm just hoping we don't keep playing him at left back, lots of lapses from him in that regard.

Yes the article suggests Beil thought he was excellent. I thought his defending was dubious a lot of the time, going forward he was much better,
 
I am pleased I think he a bit underrated by a lot of Boro fans - in general his crossing is very good, he is strong and quick and likes to attack. I agree he needs to improve defensively, but if we played him as a left sided wide player opposed to a left back this would be less of an issue.
 
He lacks pace over a 100yards, but does have an initial burst to get a cross in, fair play to him he is a player that can ‘do a job‘ in a couple of positions. As said, he showed loyalty when needed and gave his all In one of our darker hours. His crossing is his best attribute, we need players to start the season with, so a good deal for both parties as things stand. I am sure he will continue with the effort he showed post lockdown. Warnock has given him some belief back I think.
 
Fully deserved. A 1 year with option of another is pretty sensible. He would just be another player leaving for nothing and needing replacing for a fee.

He did pretty well under Warnock and can play a few positions. Decent squad player👍
 
tad on he fence with this one but will jump onto the good move side.... never a full back tho...stuck in after the lockdown and did well
