The scammers you can usually suss straight away , or a couple more messages then you suss them and they move on ,....
But it's the messers I don't get , just send you the is this item available line , then won't reply after you've answered !!!!

I recently put something on gumtree and had 4 of them. Didnt seem to be bots but the fact there were 4 without replies led me to think they may be.

When you look at a listing there is a button that sends the "is this item available?" message, I think people just click that by mistake as there is no confirmation prompt once pushed
