I like him as a manager, I like his style of play, he had a very good Brentford team, who ran us so close during our playoff defeat season & a good QPR team who, if continue in that style of play, will be there, or thereabouts this season, when we were looking at replacing Karanka, although my initial choice was NW who I knew we wouldnt go for then, he was the one for me instead of Monk, but IMHO he was wrong last night, saying sometimes you have to win ugly
For me winning ugly is not feigning injury after injury, rolling aroud clutching your face, feigning cramp, not once but a few times, or maybe it is & i'm wrong

I've never seen 10 minutes added on a game without a serious injury before that was the measure of their time wasting. They were definitely schooled in the "dark arts" Johansen is a very good player but committed two professional fouls in the first half that should have warranted yellow.

QPR are a very good side and they really shouldn't need to be cheating like that. I know we do it too and it's cheating when we do it too but last night was frankly ridiculous at times. The ref added the time on but the point is not the time it is the disruption to the flow of the game and he allowed it to go unchecked. How their keeper wasn't booked for his prancing about choosing the perfect blade of grass before taking a dead ball I don't knwo.

Agree with you about Warburton, good manager.

However the QPR game management, as frustrating as it was is them just being professional away from home, seeing the game out and disrupting our momentum. It worked, as players and crowd alike got frustrated.

I don't like it any more than you do, but most would love it if we were a goal up away from home, down to ten men and trying to see the game through. They did what needed to be done to get the result for their team.

Yes, I'm more annoyed with the ref for not clamping down on it early on than I am at QPR for employing those tactics. The lack of punishment made them even bolder in their attempts to waste time and take the pish. Needed a stronger refereeing performance in that area.

I don't mean the time wasting side of the game, the feining of injury got me, trying to get a fellow player booked/sent off, twice I can recall this happening last night, agree they were professional last night in time wasting, something we will do at times away from home this season

Warburton spent the match on the touch line instructing his team, giving them encouragement, telling them what to do.

Warnock spent the match shouting in the lines mans ear.

QPR won.

Before we start having a pop at Warnock, Warburton has been backed by his owner. The names he wanted he’s largely got. Can you say the same about NW? Clearly not, unless he particularly asked us to spend the summer chasing two South American untested kids?

Or the other players we've actually signed that aren't South American untested kids ? At least Warnock was able to bring in last years "number one target" Ackpom who really changed the game, and showed why Warnock was so keen to get hold of him.

I reckon the appointment of Kieran Scott might be telling us something about what Warnock thinks of the recruitment strategy in place. All told it has been erratic since the tail end of Karanka's reign.

....or alternatively Gibson has been trying for a while to put a system in place to protect us from managers individual buys that don't fit with each new managers strategy, and has finally identified and recruited his man. Woodgate talked about a "golden thread" which certainly fits with this idea.

Why are we so keen to credit Warnock with anything positive that happens at this club ?

I wasn't having a pop at Warnock merely stating a fact.

Warnock wanted Crooks, Ikpeazu, Ameobi, Peltier, Lumley & Daniels and got them. Have to presume he was happy with the club signing Payero.

They were winning and only had 10 men. You'd fully expect the dark arts and time wasting.

I remember us loving Bettinelli taking over 3mins to take a goal kick away at Bristol City😂

That said I was praying for a 98th min equaliser. It's all well and good time wasting but it just gets added on. It's a bit pointless really other than breaking up passages of pressure.

I highly doubt Warnock had anything to do with Kieran Scott coming in. He’s never had a director of football as far as I’m aware and likes to do things himself. Also the chance of him being here next season seems minimal to me. Kieran Scott will be Gibson signings and I would think quite a few of the signings and rumoured signings this window have come from Gibson and the recruitment team
