Anyone watching the latest TV drama? I am finding it gripping viewing. The subject matter is disturbing however how the Police operated and devised a plan to snare this monster was it appears fairly unique.

Martin Clunes portrays the lead detective brilliantly. Great drama and once again shows that British drama is up there as one of the leaders in its field.
Last part tonight, looking forward to the conclusion.

Yes, love it. Clunes is a great actor. I am very much looking forward to tonight's final episode.

I'm recording it to watch in one go at the weekend. Really looking forward to it after rewatching the excellent first series a couple of nights ago 👍

This is an excellent dramatisation.
.
The portrayal from Clunes is both sensitive, REAL and understated, one of the best crime programmes Ive seen. I always think real life stories are more compelling than over the top ficticious drama like LoD and Bodyguard.

If you like this current series of Manhunt watch the first series which is on ITV Hub. Its the Levi Bellfield case and equally brilliant and tense.

Agree one of the best things Ive seen for a long time. Certainly on ITV. The Levi Bellfield first series was equally brilliant I agree.

Agree that this was brilliant and Martin Clunes was a revelation. Watched 3 parts last night.

Just a thought, I would not want to live in South East London if the police were unable to touch this culprit (pre Clunes that is) for about 17 years ?

I lived and worked in South London for 5 years in the 80’s. Fortunately, crime didn’t touch me at all- thankfully.

And that’s the point. The Met brought Sutton (Clunes) in because the SIO and the team had failed to get anywhere. Given Sutton’s brilliant police work getting Bellfield for the Milly Dowler murder (again a case that had been beyond the original investigating team) it was interesting to see how he influenced the case.
