you have to stay in the room, no contact with anyone else, at your own expense, about time too, its only taken a year to implement !What is “hotel quarantine”? Staying in a hotel? Presume you have to pay? Aren’t you more likely to catch it in a hotel than at home?
yep, have to pay for 10 days in a hotel on returning to the UK apparentlyWhat is “hotel quarantine”? Staying in a hotel? Presume you have to pay? Aren’t you more likely to catch it in a hotel than at home?
Only for returning people from high risk areas I read. South Africa, South America and Portugal are examples. It will cost at least a £1000yep, have to pay for 10 days in a hotel on returning to the UK apparently
That was the initial proposal but "Whitehall sources" are now saying it will be a blanket policy covering all travellers.Only for returning people from high risk areas I read. South Africa, South America and Portugal are examples. It will cost at least a £1000
All the money we have spent propping up our economy could have been used to support the travel industry but at least we could have been back to living a relatively normal life within these shores. Hospitality would have been back to "normal", music industry could have still operated, we could be watching live sports again. Instead we have the current **** show. So frustratingA year too late
Bear I think it was a blanket policy, but watered down to high risk areas. We‘ll see later. That was the initial proposal but "Whitehall sources" are now saying it will be a blanket policy covering all travellers.
That's how the successful countries did it... Upset less than 1 per cent of the people while 99 per cent went about their businessAll the money we have spent propping up our economy could have been used to support the travel industry but at least we could have been back to living a relatively normal life within these shores. Yep and the most annoying thing about it is that we have had 4yrs of Brexit with this government telling us about buying British, holidaying in this country, closing borders etc etc. The one time I actually agree with them on this and they are suddenly internationalists again!!!!That's how the successful countries did it... It sounds like absolute heaven to me, just for a week or so. I guess we all have different lives atm!Bear I think it was a blanket policy, but watered down to high risk areas. We‘ll see later.
Brother in law’s done it twice travelling for work, apparently it’s grim, you can empty Netflix in a week.
Having done it at home twice I can tell you it’s no walk in the park - literallyIt sounds like absolute heaven to me, just for a week or so. I guess we all have different lives atm!
I can sense a business trip abroad coming on
This might be pedantic but what sort of hotel 'qualifies'? Assuming you can't book a cheap air bnb in someone's house for a tenner a night!
Oh I see. The 'no choice' thing is fair enough if its a flat rate but feels a bit harsh if some are significantly more expensive than others.Government mandated hotels, usually airport hotels, no choice just what you're allocated.
So no Air B'n'B's, but equally you can't upgrade to a suite to make it a bit more comfortable. At least that's the theory anyway.
