Man City 2-5 Leicester

Do like Tielmans, always looks so composed on the ball and Castagne could be the most underrated signing of the year come the end of the season, proper grafter.
Looking through the other players in his squad - take out the diminishing no of regular oldies and its a fairly young group of players.
Good luck to them.
I wouldnt mind us a point behind Leicester(y)

Pereira 20mil
Castagne was 20mil
Ward cost them 12.5
Jakupovic was 2
Soyuncu was undisclosed but rumoured to be 18/19mil
Benkovic 13mil
Fuchs 3.5
Ndidi was about 16mil
Mendy was about 13/14 mil
Amarteywas 5/6 mil
Tielemans was 40 not 20
Praet was 17
silva was 22
Maddison was 22
Gray was 5
Perez was 30
Ghezzal was 12
Iheanacho was 25
Slimani 28
Vardy 1
Evans 3.5

that’s well over 300

a lot might not be playing but they are in Leicester’s squad. Some of those signings are great but theirs a fair few expensive spuds as well. The big plus is they earned the majority of the money by selling well so haven’t got themselves in loads of debt.

City are definitely a testament to the phrase “They’ve got more money than sense”!
High woodall.
No mate.
Go look at their players - when they signed - and where from and you will see players from Birmingham, Villa, Luton Town, Forest, Fleetwood Town and West Brom and their academy.
Their goalie has played for them for over 9 years.
Vardy has played since Nigel Pearson bought him in 2011
Barnes is an academy product.....
De Flab
The lad - Justin was bought from Luton - whose experience was in League 1 and league 2 !
I posted on another thread that they have spent far less than common muth would like us to believe.
Unlike us they havent chucked loads at average players - their recruitment team appear to have their heads facing forwards.

I wont spend all night querying those figures, but some of those are "rumoured" so its best not to include what we cant substantiate.
Wheres Morgan
Barnes
De fLab
?

When you buy players like Mahrez for 450K then sell him for 60M
or Kante for 5.6M and sell him for 32M
or Ben Chillwell from Rushden and Diamonds for nowt - sold to Chelsea for 45M

.................................thats just three players....Ide say thats good investment and planning - not splashing the cash.

Considering the donkeys weve paid for in the last four years, chucked more money at them than they are worth and paid a fortune in wages - we are not really in any position to judge whose [not] got the money or sense.

I think he meant Manchester City have more money than sense.

Leicester have been a well run club since the Thai takeover a decade ago and the bigger fees they’ve paid recently have been made possible through success on the field and great recruitment that has allowed them to sell on at a profit and reinvest in overall quality, in Rodgers they’ve got a manager who is tactically capable and I can see them being being a team that will compete for trophies and be up among the top 6 at the end of the season.

De Lap`s son played today - who cost nothing.

Roofie, I think including Liam Delap as proof of Leicester’s recruitment success is questionable.

They finished 2nd last season and were beaten by a Liverpool team that was simply phenomenal. Plus who would they replace him with? That City job is now a poisoned chalice. Much like how the Man Utd job was after Fergie retired.

They won a Carabao Cup. That’s simply not good enough for the money spent.

Guardiola has spent £345,000,000 on defenders, and they can’t defend. Dias coming in will bring Guardiola's spending on defenders to over £400,000,000.

Man City have lost 10 of their last 36 league games, Liverpool have lost 10 of their last 128.

Pep ha won two Champions League's with Messi 9 and 11 years ago and hasn't been to a final since, despite managing Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City for almost a full decade.

Bald Fraud.

I’m with Priv here. Casting Leicester as picking up “bargains” and cheap talent is a bit if you pardon the pun rich. They have spent over £100m on players. £40m on one alone.

Morning Cardiff.
If you look at their squad - its a fact.
Imagine if we had three players - bought for nothing or next to nothing and [3] sold for over 100M?!
With the Premier money and planning - they appear to be building a steady ship with quality young players.
We cant preach prudence - for a Championship club we have chucked good money at no better than average players - before Chuba we had two "strikers" we paid over 21M for and still remain the lowest scorers!
Not forgetting 6M for donkey Gestede - who scored less than 10 league goals (?).
Im looking at Leicester as a model club - who have been managed well and traded well in the player market.
I suggest we are approximately similar size clubs and could equally achieve.
Money isnt everything.
Its how you manage it.
UTMB!
