Malaga province has 520 coronavirus cases but rise has slowed down in last few days

Hope it flattens out for you. Ours in Almería is a lot lower. However we had a big percentage jump today. Details here: https://www.almerimartoday.com/index.php/en/coronavirus/2817-coronavirus-23-march-2020

My understanding is that one of the issues for Málaga might have been people fleeing south to second homes. Not sure how true that is. However I understand that there are now police road blocks stopping people going south to the coast.

Sadly I think the UK may have missed the boat on trying to confine people to the London area.

One bit worth highlighting ....

On Sunday the Junta de Andalucía began drive-through Covid-19 tests for health workers, care home employees, members of the security forces and other key workers

I have nothing to support this Spanishman but having one of the busiest airports in the country can't have helped either - even at this time of year, the stretch from Malaga to Fuengirola is busy with Brits and, increasingly, Scandinavians flying in

Cancelled our apartment rental yesterday, may have jumped too soon, it's not until the last week in May.
I think it was a good call. We have a trip back to the UK booked for May. Plus a holiday to the Canaries in June. I think there is very little chance of us doing either of these.

I agree. I know how many people have been driving 2 hours from here to Málaga airport to get home recently (or taking taxis or buses there).

I can´t imagine this will be anything like back to normal in May. I think we´ll be in lockdown through the whole of April at least. Probably longer. I´m even worried about the summer holidays!!!

We are due back in the UK again for a family wedding near York early in September. I am a little bit more hopeful for that one.

I honestly cant see the summer holidays happening for anyone
We're suppose to be going to Canada back end of June, no way is that going to happen

Why not? I’m certain we’ll be in lockdown until the end of May but if we are lucky, and it works, restrictions could be lifted then.
