Maddo and the other one - some needle ?

You know whatshisname - who this week seemed remarkably well informed what the minutes silence was for after last weeks debacle

counted at least 4 or 5 times when he had a sarcastic go at Maddo for which there was no response. Cant remember em all but but one was the ridicule over Maddos cure for cramp.

I get the impression Maddison doesn’t like him. Or thinks he’s a bit cocky.

Problem I have, living abroad, is that we had Ally Brownlee and no-one is ever going to touch him.

He's terrible. His awful attempts at being a comedian get so annoying. Wish we could have someone who commentates the game rather than points out which player looks like a character from Coronation Street or some equally terrible 'gag'.

Agree, it would be fantastic having Brownlee now listening to him whilst watching aswell with the MFC live stream. He would make it great. I have nothing against Drury or Maddison but they are a painful listen and don’t bounce off each other very well

There was a time today when I felt he was mocking Maddo - taking the pzz.

Hes not a patch on Ali or anywhere near it.

Maddo seems to tell him straight when the other one tries to impress with his "banter".

It’s hard to criticise Maddison for what he says when he is giving his views as an ex top level pro but I do find Drury to be a very ‘negative’ commentator.

I suppose we were spoiled for many years by Brownlee’s rose tinted spectacles and outstanding commentary!

I think he’s occasionally really condescending to Maddo. On more than one occasion I’ve thought ‘that’s out of order’. I don’t want to hear a commentator trying to belittle a pundit. I suspect he just has no idea how it comes across, rather than anything malicious. He’s just got **** patter.

I'm sure Drury is ok, but unfortunately he doesn't come across as likeable on the radio. Trying too hard perhaps to make jokes rather than being natural

I really wish Maddo would learn that Akpom is called Akpom not Akpon.

I bet Maddo is a great bloke and don’t get me wrong he knows enough about footy and has passion for the boro but I just don’t think he’s a great listen. You make a good point though, as when one of the lads have stepped in, there seems to be a better chemistry with the commentator and Maddo. So could be something in that. Rob had a pop at me on here before when I said they should replace Drury but I will say it again.

Drury is ok not great but just ok. Hasn't been commentating on Boro that long. Brownlie was brutal when he first started but grew into the job. His rose coloured specs got him through.
I thought the comments to Maddo were just attempts at humour. Not very funny but nothing sinister either. UTB

Drury is dreadful hes pompus and nothing like as funny as he thinks he is. there was a guy who did the commentary when druy went on his jollies last season and he was fantastic in comparison

I think we were just spoilt by having a man the calibre of Mr Brownlee. I agree he was special. I’m not sure what the answer is.
