Thankyou everyone who gave me advice and posted there memories
I Completed it yesterday and what can I say. I’ve done some silly things in my time like Lands End to John O Groats and Coast to Coast in a day on my bike, but this was the toughest thing I’ve ever done,
42 miles took 16.5 hours.
I went from loving the North Yorkshire moors to never wanting to see Heather ever again.
I did the Yorkshire 3 peaks last year which was just as tough physicall even though it’s 18 miles shorter but not as mentally tough, the changes of scenery keeps you going on the Y3P whereas once your on top of the moors there’s no change in the landscape, and all you pass on the whole route is lordstones cafe (no good at 5am 😂) and the lion inn, no farms literally nothing, you forget just how remote the moors are, whilst walking there’s very little to base distances on so it’s as much of a mental challenge as a physical.
And the last 10 miles broke me but we dug in and got it boshed off
Overall I’m glad I got it ticked off, would I do it again? No. Did I enjoy it? No but I’ll look back further down the line and the tough moments will turn into the good memories I’m really glad I accomplished it

Well done mate welcome to the club I want to do it again now but definitely don’t think my knees will be up to the rigorous terrain but never say never watch this space lol
Well done again

Well done , While you were doing the Lyke wake walk up to Bloworth Crossing and still on the Cleveland Way did you come across other runners/walkers doing the Hardmoors 160 mile and 110 mile event, 🤔🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🚶🚶‍♀️

Nice one. On the mental side I just love 🙄 how Fylingdales BMEWS and then the radio mast at Ravenscar never seem to get any fecking closer once they come into view like some sort of mirage driving you insane. At least it was dry, I've just walked the Loose Howe to Shunner stretch this afty and the 'usual bog' wasn't too bad and the clay path later on was bone hard.

Yeah loads absolutely crazy it kinda helped later on in our challenge that come on I can do 42 miles if they can do 160. Massive kudos to anyone who puts themselves through that sort of challenge

Now I know who you are! Gday Rob. Bloody good effort that.

Thats amazing, respect. I did about 8/9 miles this afternoon from clay bank round the forestry road, passed the foot of ingleby incline and bank foot farm and through the village were dudley arms is and back up to clay bank. Beautiful weather and scenery and really gave me a mental pick up which i needed but just two and a galf hours of working and i was whacked so 42 mile in 16 hours is phenomenal 👏🏼
