Luton Town

Sheff Utd aren't exactly in blistering form. Tbh I have no idea how Friday night will go, but it won't exactly be a shock for a top half QPR team (even if their form is terrible) to win at home.

Can't see Luton getting beat by Reading at home on the final day.

Hoping Luton lose to an “on the beach” Reading is as forlorn as hoping we sign Phil Foden next season. And when I say on the beach Reading will be decked in blue and white hooped swimming togs and carrying a large inflatable ball, bucket and spade and windmills on sticks.
A funny image that made me smile, however, statistically it isn't backed up at all. It's a myth much like the fighting for their lives myth.

Did you see the Leeds Palace game on Monday? Palace mullered Leeds in the last 30 minutes with nothing to play for.

I still think Luton will beat Reading but it isn't a gimme no games in the championship are.

On Sheffield utd v qpr. Qpr are in awful form but utd ain't much better. I think 8 points v 4 from their last 6 games. Home advantage to qpr. Utd have 3 points from their last 6 away games, qpr 7 points from their last 6 home games. Again not a gimme and if utd turn up and expect to walk over qpr they will come unstuck.

Fulham could do us a big favour re' Luton & Sheff Utd. I can't see Luton losing at home to Reading though.

I also can't see beyond a QPR loss tomorrow night. Their form is appalling. Bottom of last 8 games, second bottom of last 10, third bottom of last 12.

There isn't a better team for Sheff Utd to be playing.

Edit: I think we need to assume that, and hope for at least Fulham draw in the final game. If Sheff win heavily tomorrow it will be disappointing though.
Luton wouldn't necessarily need to lose to Reading, a draw could potentially see us through on goal difference.
They are 4 goals better off at the moment but given we'd need to win 2 games in this scenario, and they need to lose to Fulham, the GD would potentially be close.
Not saying all this would happen of course, but it doesn't rely necessary on them losing to Reading (they'll probably beat them though)

We just need to concentrate on ourselves, and beating an on form Stoke. They'll be tough to break down and a danger on the ball, this is far from a gimme.

Agree with this. Stoke will be a different proposition to an awful Cardiff team last night.

I putting my hopes on catching Sheff Utd but if they are going to drop points I don't think it will be tomorrow ,QPR are struggling and even though Sheff Utd aren't in top form I do expect them to force the result tomorrow. It's the Fulham game for me, there might be something in the way SUFC got rid of Jokanovic that might mean Mitrovic has a point to prove for his old boss and friend.

QPR is must win for Sheff Utd, their fans will surely see it that way. I guess they could blow up under the pressure, but I wouldn't expect it.

A betting buddy once told me the optimum time to bet on football matches (based on form/trends) is between October and March.

Before October - no real form developed… after March - nerves/battle mentality etc comes into play, hence form can be erratic.

Point is - the tail end to a season just can’t be accurately predicted

I can see this going down to the last kick of the season! It ain’t over by a long shot!

Agreed. I hope if Shef Utd win on Friday people do not throw the towel in and say season over as there is a very real chance they will lose their last game

plenty of people threw the towel in each of the last 2 games. I said weeks ago be prepared to drop out of the top 6 when we hit our tough patch of games, we did. But if we are within 2-3 point of 6th with a few games to go, we can make it. I'll stick to that prediction. We can make it, I'd say it is in our hands despite technically it being in Sheff Utds. If we win both games we will be in play offs. If we win and draw, we need Sheff Utd to fail to win either game, which is a possibility.

I just hope that drubbing at Bramall Lane doesn't haunt us, by denying us on goal difference. If we'd lost 1-0 instead of 4-1 then goal diff would be +12 vs +10 in our favour and that would give us an extra option of making 6th (win and draw for us, 2x draws for Sheff Utd, but that'll only happen if we win a game by 3 goals now and that isn't something we do very often).
