Jeez, how long ago does it seem since that first match of the season, 3-3 draw, where we all thought....come on, what a season this is going to be.....oh yes, little did we know....😔

Who would have thought after that display that we wouldn't score 3 goals in a game for the rest of the season( not that many with 2).Tells its own story.

Story of our season, going ahead twice in the game and not holding onto leads. We have done it way to much this season. Next season I want us to sign a couple of players who know how to see a game out.

I was there listening to everyone saying how much better it was now with Pulis gone, and how exciting the football was going to be.

I just smiled politely, because deep down I always believed Woody would be deeply unpopular by the end of the season. A draw with Luton should never be seen as a “good” result no matter how exciting the match was.

PHD in hindsight this lad.

Tbf I am not gonna sit here and pretend I didn’t enjoy the Luton game, I thought we might of went on and had a bit of a topsy turvy season but finished in around mid table with maybe the chance to build on that the following season. I think everyone enjoyed the Luton game as it was totally different to anything under Pulis really and people liked what they saw, unfortunately it was a one off as we now know. Woodgate clearly couldn’t get the message accross to the players and he was rightfully sacked and will arguably go down as our worst ever manager.

I am glad we are rid of Both Pulis and Woodgate. I just hope Warnock has enough time to sort this mess out now. And give us somet to build on for next season.

TBH my thoughts were more along the lines of “when these become 3-2 and 4-3 to the other team people will soon stop praising the entertainment factor“. As it turns out, we scored less than we ever did under Pulis. It was as boring as it was bad.

Yeah, there wasn’t any entertainment factor with Woodgate it turned out. Undoubtedly worse than Pulis but still for me, i did get a good feeling after that first game. Couldn’t have gone much worse than it did after that though.

Do you think he will ever become a manager again?

No, not in the Football League anyway. I’m sure Pools would give him a crack, they love an ex-Boro player at the helm.

I must admit I am with Atypical. I prefer a structure within the team and players knowing what they are meant to do. Woodgates chaos theory was there to see from game one. A lot of enthusiastic running about initially, but as the chaos grew throughout the first few months the enthusiasm waned. I defy anyone to watch that Luton game again and say we were good. It was like a sunday league game in the TJFA. I was all for giving him a chance but it soon became apparent he was completely out of his depth.
