Jeez, how long ago does it seem since that first match of the season, 3-3 draw, where we all thought....come on, what a season this is going to be.....oh yes, little did we know....
PHD in hindsight this lad.I was there listening to everyone saying how much better it was now with Pulis gone, and how exciting the football was going to be.
I just smiled politely, because deep down I always believed Woody would be deeply unpopular by the end of the season. A draw with Luton should never be seen as a âgoodâ result no matter how exciting the match was.
Not especially, just never bought into the idea that âentertaining footballâ was worth more than points. Hence why I always supported Pulis.PHD in hindsight this lad.
Tbf I am not gonna sit here and pretend I didnât enjoy the Luton game, I thought we might of went on and had a bit of a topsy turvy season but finished in around mid table with maybe the chance to build on that the following season. I think everyone enjoyed the Luton game as it was totally different to anything under Pulis really and people liked what they saw, unfortunately it was a one off as we now know. Woodgate clearly couldnât get the message accross to the players and he was rightfully sacked and will arguably go down as our worst ever manager.
I am glad we are rid of Both Pulis and Woodgate. I just hope Warnock has enough time to sort this mess out now. And give us somet to build on for next season.
TBH my thoughts were more along the lines of âwhen these become 3-2 and 4-3 to the other teamâ people will soon stop praising the entertainment factor. As it turns out, we scored less than we ever did under Pulis. It was as boring as it was bad.
Yeah, there wasnât any entertainment factor with Woodgate it turned out. Undoubtedly worse than Pulis but still for me, i did get a good feeling after that first game. Couldnât have gone much worse than it did after that though.
Do you think he will ever become a manager again?
