Luke Jobson trial

the lad certainly didnt deserve to die but from stories going about from that time, you have to wonder why HE was targeted by these lads...

im guessing live by the sword, die by the sword is pretty close to an explaination...

Thats just from comments Ive heard and i dont particularly have my ear to the ground...

They simply went out on weekends looking for acts of violence. I know because my friend's son was badly injured by them. They were well known for going into different towns in the area over the weekend and causing problems. This time they went too far.

Is this the lad who was seen alive (on cctv?) several hours after the altercation?

You can’t convict someone of murder if there isn’t good evidence.

What goes around comes around and I would imagine the four of them will have targets on their backs now.

Not so long back two lads went out in Middlesbrough Town Centre, went out with knives & knuckle dusters. At the end of the night they picked a fight with a lad and stabbed him, nearly killing him.

They were charged with attempted murder and it got reduced to Affray days before going to court.

The criminal justice in this country is an absolute joke, from the governments down who won't finance prisons and encourage prosecutors/courts to keep people out of prison.

What were they sentenced to?

I can't remember, it wasn't long, 18 months maybe.

Just tried to find the reports but searching the Gazette is a nightmare..........
I've searched on google and the only thing I can find is two lads arrested in McDonalds car park for having a knife and a knuckle duster in their car. Nothing about any affray or anyone nearly getting killed.

It's the sentencing that annoys me most. It's hard enough for the Police to reach the bar for the CPS to go for prosecution, but how frustrating it must be to manage all that and then find the judges sentence is lenient.

I'd like to blame the judges, but often their hands are tied by government and a judicial system that has been cut to the bone. We have back logs for trials, woeful pay rates for many solicitors in the criminal sector and overcrowded inefficient privatised prisons.

On top of that we have a government openly prepared to break international law, SPAD's treated differently to the rest of us and our Lord Chancellor ⁦Robert Buckland⁩ (Hon.QC) and Law Officers of England and Wales ⁦Suella Braverman⁩ (Hon.QC) and Michael Ellis1⁩ (Hon.QC) just voted against a clause ‘requiring Ministers to respect the rule of law and uphold the independence of the Courts'.

This is what happens to a democracy when you reward dodgy practices such as those of Vote Leave. This is Vote Leave now in Government remember.
