Low carb snacks on the go

Following on from the thread about Intermittent Fasting and Keto, I've decided to give it a go (not wanting a debate on it; I've decided) but am wanting to know what kind of snacks are good for this protocol? I'm talking about snacks you can keep in the drawer/fridge at work to graze on in the afternoon. I googled it but got a load of ads for pre-packaged, processed stuff which I really want to avoid if I can. Any tips from the resident sexy IF/Keto beasts would be appreciated!

If I get overly hungry I will have either fruit or i keep some banana soreen close

Banana soreen??? Sounds nice...I love home-made banana loaf. Also sounds quite carby?
Yep avoid the those if doing LC/Keto.

- nuts/seeds but not too may.

what’s your baking like? You can make brownies with almond flour and erythitol sweetener to make them Keto.

Remember you’re trying to stay under 20g net carbs a day, so you can eat anything as long as you’re under that number.

I personally like the PhD smart bars (the smallest ones -10g of protein) but there’s some debate about them as they contain malitol which can knock you out of Ketosis, but I eat them anyway

Also people seem to make fat bombs which they take with them to snack on. You could essentially make a mix of something like peanut butter, almond flour, coconut oil, some seeds, sweetener and maybe cacao and mix it up and divide into balls, that might be nice.

I didn't do full keto but I was 30g carbs, medium fats and high protein but my go to was Mini Babybels / Cheesestrings / Peperami / Le Fage 0% Greek Yogurt / Protein Shake / Slack Handful of pistachios or almonds.

Probably get shot down by the fitness experts but it worked for me.

In my experience different things work for different people. Do what you want and what works for you. When you keep it to strict its easier to just sack it.

My mate started a Keto lifestyle 2 years ago. He has lost 9.5 stone and found it has worked fantastically for him. He tracked all his macros with my Fitness tracker and planned all his meals in advance. The few things that stick in my mind are his initial bouts of cramps that he got on top of quickly by salt tablets, he also needs to ensure he drank lots of water as he was initially bunged up.
He now makes everything from fresh, (makes pizza bases with Fathead recipies that taste great). He snacks on walnuts, boiled eggs. Baby bells cheese, pepperoni, smoked sausage. Takeaway is a mixed kebab. He also initially used strips to pee on to ensure he was in ketosis. He did say to begin with it was a lot of faffing about but now it’s just second nature to him.
