Loving daft facts.

OK, Octopus have been a bit liberal with the facts SaB. Typically a microwave over an extended period will use more power on standby that it uses to cook. So if you use it to heat up your coffee for 30 seconds once in a day. The other 23 hours and 59.5 seconds is on standby then it will use more overall power on standby. So it doesn't mean that a microwave in use for 30 seconds uses less power than one on standby for 30 seconds.

It depends then on how often you use your microwave. I would phone up Octopus, not to complai, just for someone new to talk to.

There I was quite happy with my new fact, clear and concise, then FMTTM.

I aint buying that SaB, I will do my due dilligence then come back with proof. It is after all a slow work Friday.
It's true, but only because a microwave stands idle for 99% of the time running only the clock. When a microwave is cooking it uses far more energy, and of course the clock is still running during cooking.

Good. The only problem is I don't have a microwave. Never have.

My aunt doesn't either. She's afraid that the 'rays' will give her brain cancer.

She doesn't have a mobile phone either, for the same reason.

She's daft and that's a fact which verifies my contribution to this thread.
