Lost pubs

Some grand looking pubs there! I can't say I've drank in many. The one near Albert Bridge when it was called Dirty Nelly's, Ayresome Park, De Niro's and that's it.

As a Billingham lad of a certain age the Stoney Oak was my boozer of choice on a weekend. The place use to be packed Thursday to Sunday.

Kings Arms and The Merlin where I mis-spent my youth!

I've definitely been in 15 of them. It could be 16 as I can't remember if I've been in Cassidys on Grange Road.

20 pubs for me, what a beautiful building the erimus looks, understandable mind, it's in the name 👍

We didn't live far from the Speedway so from arondc1978-1980 I use to meet my Stockton mork mates in there before Boro games, after that itcwas the yellow rose with my dad

The lad in the photo who owned the Middlehaven pub is a life long friend of my late brother, he was his best man when he married in Cyprus, MJ now lives in Mexico & as an instructor in deep water diving lessons

😇

16.
Never ventured much into Thornaby or Stockton
I didnt realise The Empire on Linthorpe Road had gone:(
Had a few jars in there...:p

The Boro wasnt vey good for a night out,not a patch on Stockton for a pub crawl. The Boro had the best social clubs mind.

A rather miserly 1 for me, though as a Northumbrian born and bred that might not be too much of a surprise.

16 . I always think it's sad when you see pictures of old pubs. Think of all the good times etc that people had in them.
Now it's increasingly a world of finished interaction , people on their phones if they're even out at all?
Why did they all close down... Changing tastes; better TV; Central heating....
