you generally get 'knighted' these days for knowing where the skeletons are hidden and keeping your mouth shut - hence why Williamson got it under the cover of the 2022 special honours for ' political service'.

What the hell did he get the knighthood for anyway as yes he was a govt minister but so we’re many others. He seems to have had it awhile as well.

He got it for services to watching BJ get a BJ I think.

The whole honours system was corrupted years ago and the majority are now bought, in either pure monetary terms, or in favours.

That said, while I'm no fan of Beckham he's certainly more deserving than all these bent politicians who get it.

It really is, if one ever met Gavin Williamson surely it would be impossible to resist referring to him as Sir Gavin with a knowing smirk, he must be fed up with it.

Nowadays getting a knighthood carries no sense of respect or gravitas, it's actually the opposite.
