My boy is learning and he's going to Uni very soon, so he can't "borrow" mine anymore.

Anyone selling a second hand electric + maybe an amp too.

He's probably looking at a Yamaha Pacifica if he buys new and cant get a decent second hand one.

How much you want to pay for a guitar

I’ll give you a really bad amp. It’s a vox and sounds terrible but i bought it brand new for £50 and have only used it as a stool for painting so has some paint specs on
Ha ha, that's really kind cheers, I'll probably take you up on that.

Your 'sales' pitch is awful by the way :ROFLMAO:

Last time I was in Stockton cash generator had a boss BR800 which is a digital recorder but has endless sound pre sets so if he’s a bedroom guitarist that would be what I’d buy instead of a amp

Plus another shop on the high street has a dan electro which is pretty nice for around £200
Which was the other shop? (you knew I'd ask)

Jonny, if you don’t get any joy, give me a shout. I’ve got a Squire fender copy, Marshall house amp, case, stand, tuner and spare plectrums. I bought them all to practice with and never got round to it.
I could send you photos by email.

Danelectro are a good guitar. Quirky looking but underated.

Current Squires are decent to learn on too.

Starter guitars have come on a long way. Satellite & Kay guitars anyone? 😂
I was at a guitar show today and the exact Kay guitar I had was for sale! First time I’ve seen one since.
Kay’s catalogue had a well worn page of these guitars back in the day.

Hey Johnny, I've got a brand new Squier Tornado in black that is boxed and unused. Exactly the same as this, if interested. I've got a brand new amp too. They were bought with the plan to start again and I didn't even get a chance to unbox them before the reality set in

Give me a shout if interested

Ah cheers matey, but the impetuance of youth kicked in and he's bought a Yamaha Pacifica and headphone amp already.

Kids, FFS 😆

My first guitar was a Kay. Like this one, not very good but I wish I'd kept it 🤷
Mine was exactly like this. I can honestly say mine was a pig to play, with a ridiculous action and an awful sound.

The guy showing it explained that it had been given a pro set-up and that it played brilliantly. I'm surprised in the effort he'd invested in it. He's still only able to ask for £175 for it.

The Pacifica was voted (something like) the best entry-level strat-type guitar, in Guitarist Magazine, when Yamaha brought it out back in the 90's. He won't have gone far wrong with one of those.

have you looked on gumtree plenty of musical instruments on there
Using the experience of my mature years and what life had taught me, that would have been part of my well thought out strategy.

But my boy is 20 and he just went and ordered one off Amazon and it comes tomorrow.

It was horrible to play. Was just a flat bit of wood with everything just fixed on top. £175 is good going for one, selling to nostalgic people I guess.

Obviously no use to you now anyway but I picked a guitar at Xmas for the wean, fella on ebay making up kits as a hobby then selling them cost price. Bespoke paint job and well put together. Gibson LP copy. Sounds awful, but that's mainly cos the kids are playing it 🤣.
