Look Out For Fake Fan Twitter Accounts

I got a message today from FSA reps from Leeds and QPR about a sudden spate of false twitter accounts - they largely begin "Hi I am new to twitter and need new followers, would greatly appreciate if you could follow back and RT this."
Fine so far but they soon change - "These “bot” accounts are getting quite sophisticated and are very good at causing rifts, initially commenting on football then moving onto political issues."
The Leeds guy had spotted and copied and paste 7 identical messages to the one above just from today alone. So perhaps we should be on our guard here. It might be useful to find out if there is a pattern and maybe what the political motivation is.
