Lock down Boro football question #2 - Your favourite 1970s goal from these 20 or so efforts (ta to junos_boots for the video link)

Murdoch's against Sunderland for me. All the close control and passing on an awful looking surface and then the ball sticking in the mud before Murdoch could finish with the Sunderland keeper sliding uncontrolably past him. Sowness (as commentator called him) shows how good he was in these clips with a few screamers from outside the box and no seeming preference for either foot on the evidence of these clips.
 
3 left footed strikes for me.
1. Souness - because he was The King of Ayresome Park.
2. Cummins - that breakaway goal at Newcastle.
3. Armstrong - a beautiful out side of the left boot piece of magic.
 
So many great goals,and I was there for most of them,for me its,
1 Stan Cummins, fabulous strike,
2 Spikes wonderful free kick
3 Billy (the bear ) Ashcroft, what a header.....
4 Souness thunderbolt v Stoke......
Ah the memories.
 
Still have not chosen. I was impressed by the Ashcroft header. When I watched all of them to count how many goals there were.

Also, very noticeable how bad the pitch was.
 
1.Souness for the quality of the strike on his weaker foot.
2.Murdoch because it was against Sunderland no other reason needed.
3.Cummins was somehow in the Skunks seats but couldn't resist jumping up.

You might have to be more specific about the Souness one. There were a few in there.
 
At last I got to watch the entire video collection, even though I've watched from so many times over the years & at the mojority of those goals, all at AP mind I still get a kick watching over again, so thanks for posting, now my favourite, which is almost impossible

Well not my favourite, though most likely tomorrow I could name a different goal but I'm going for Davey Mills v Peterborough away

My reason been the 1st away FAC match I went to & I im sure I can see myself celebrating when we score 👍👌
