For any fans who enjoyed the Women's Euros and want to continue supporting a women's side, it's definitely worth checking out Durham Women. They're in the second tier of women's football and have recently gone full time. They've signed former England International Jess Clarke and a number of highly rated Championship players to build on their sixth place finish last year.

I took my son to watch their 1-1 draw with Sunderland today and we both thoroughly enjoyed the game. As you'd expect with women's football, it was very family orientated with kids activities on the program and a page to get autographs after the game. His highlight of the weekend was getting autographs from 9 of the players who played today. We'll definitely be going back again this season, especially if their League Cup game with Manchester Utd is at home. They're also live free of charge on the FA Player all against Sheffield United next weekend.

Middlesbrough's women's side started their season with a win today in the fourth tier and I enjoyed my visits to watch them last season. They will have local derbies with Newcastle, Norton and Durham Cestria (one of the feeder teams into Durham's first team) this year. Hopefully being at Stockton this season might help improve their attendances. Their first home game is next weekend.

I get that many people won't have an interest in women's games. But for those who do, there's still a lot of options for women's football to watch in the local area, despite the FA focusing all of the top division in London, Manchester and Liverpool. Plus, I personally think that the Boro Women's kits are actually far better than the men's kits this season. It's a shame they probably won't go up to my size!
