Loan deal agreed

Some people really saying they would take juke back? Jesus he was alwful the first time 9 goals in 71 appearances. And that was when he was probably more mobile. He used to get bullied and had worse control that assombalonga.

He got 11 goals in 47 league starts and 17 sub appearances. He also had multiple injuries, he was always carrying an injury or not fully fit after one. He was often poor for us, and occasionally decent, but there are mitigating circumstances. NOTE: I'm not saying we should loan him, just setting the facts straight.

After Tav's injury I would want a creative player.

Juke was a decent target man with an aerial presence, but didn't score enough for me for a centre forward. His age is a concern too.

plus he is garbage, i think he is the worst centre forward i have seen in a boro shirt !
You can't have seen the likes of Lee Dong Gook , Rudy Gestede, Kike Sola, Killen, Whelan, Ricketts, Mido and either of the Millers. Jeez the list is endless.

Over the last 2.5 seasons, he's scored one more goal than Britt has managed and cost £13.5m less. We also managed to get our money back. Imagine if somebody was to offer us £15m for Britt - the chairman would reject the approach out of hand - as a prank call.

Loan deal agreed??? Is it.

You might want to listen to the press conference on this.
“The winger and the striker that Boro were hoping to sign will not be allowed to leave on loan by their respective clubs before the end of the transfer window.”

I think because everyone is playing so much football this season and that is all of the Premier as well and because they had no proper close season to prepare clubs will not be able to release as many players on loan etc. There are far more injuries this season and with games played so close to each other more players needed on rotation.
But I think Warnock will go after other players now.

When you look at that list its hard to fathom how bad our striker policy has been over the years. Given how our youth development system has been applauded by many over the years, I think it has also under performed on the producing/developing strikers front.

I thought this season there might have been more of a chance in that some supporters get behind youngsters except if they are strikers. There is a nervousness about homegrown forwards from fans and many are written off at 17 or 18, almost before they have stepped on the pitch. So, without any supporters it might have been an opportunity but there was no one ready it seems.
Could it be the most difficult position to step up straight out of the U23s/youth team? Is it easier to work your way up and bridge the gap in lower leagues and gain your technique and confidence. Maybe we give people slightly more time in other positions or they can be flexible like Tav etc and play in different parts of the pitch to gradually establish themselves.

And this is exactly why you shouldn’t say it’s pretty much done before it is. Makes it more disappointing. Shocking if we don’t bring anyone in to be honest. A disgrace.

It was reported as agreed last week Rob.

This is just another window where we are short of bodies, quality and creativity, and end up not addressing the glaring issues.

I'm not saying it's easy, and most other clubs of our stature are in the same boat, but NW, the club or local media shouldn't announce that a deal has been agreed if it hasn't.

I don't think anyone has written any of our youth strikers off? Maybe I missed that? In fact, I'd be more than happy for us to give the likes of Walker and Burrell a game, like we have done with Wood, Hackney, Folarin etc.

Depends who the players were and who will be available. Could be we’ve missed out on a potential crock and we end up with ‘the jewel’ tearing it up.
Well I would have thought if Warnock wanted them then they must have been at least half decent.

And as for them being potential crocks, then we’d best not sort out any loans on the off chance they too could potentially be crocks!
