Charlie Wyke is doing alright at the Makems after a decent spell at Bradford, or are we taling about playing in the Premier League?

I think the deciding factor should be to play at the level the club is at the time they reach the fringes of the first team. This means we are producing players of the quality we need.

Of course there is no shame in producing players who go on to have careers in the lower leagues, whose sales go on to fund the academy. But the primary function of our academy should be to produce players to improve the first team squad to the point we don't need an additional signing, and ultimately gets us promoted.

three or four irons in the fire.. plus the situation will change right up to deadline day, I imagine a ton of agents will be on the blower knowing that the two deals have fallen though.

I think we need to bring four or five players to get us battle ready for the playoffs, if we are seriously going for it this season.

CD - Nathan Wood - looks the absolute business, get him out on loan and game time under his belt.
RW - Sam Folarin - has bags of potential, needs consistent game time.
LW - Marcus Browne - big loss for us, was looking so sharp.
AM - Patrick Roberts - if he wants away we need to bring someone in who is more effective.
ST - Stephen Walker - only three recognised strikers on the books even with Fletcher coming back.

Just depends how many irons we have in the fire, and how much cash-ola we have to push for a play off promotion..

RW - Reiss Nelson - best club for him to come to imo, would warno be up for it? too much of a risk?
LW - Marcos 'the jewel' Paulo - available on a free in the summer
AM - Izzy Brown - loan with an option, 6ft and assists for days, defo one if Roberts returns.
ST - Josh Maja - loan with an option to buy - worth it just to see the makkem's jaws drop!

To summarise , Nelson and Brown would be great IMO ,just need a poacher / centre forward to put away the chances they would create .

Vydra or Gayle are probably as close as we can get to 'finishers' but if we let Betteneli smash it up to them from 80 metres away it won't really make much difference I suppose.
