They have known what was coming for the party so they agreed for him to **** things up as much as possible so that whoever comes in makes a couple of quick decisions like cancelling flights to Rwanda, slightly reducing energy bills and they win the next election.

That's what I thought anyway although none of them seem to be saying this in their campaign so either it's a foregone conclusion that Sunak gets it or they are all (as we think) completely insane.
 
Personally, I find it a bit funny but don't have a problem with it. Stevie Wonder could have seen the writing on the wall for Boris and it pays to be prepared - I'd class this as sensible forward planning (and no doubt a bit of self preservation)
 
Tories being Tories......they are looking at which potential leader to use, abuse and stab in the back. And the contest hasn't even started. Probably have a contingency hatchet plan if they win/lose the next election too 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
