Linked with Wolves right back

I think rumours and actual business have ground to a halt. I genuinely believe that the announcement that no fans could last all season could stop much more business.

The figures stating how much champo clubs are losing is shocking and almost scary. I don't know at what point we think 'feck signings' just keep the club going. Imagine if we sold Fry to Burnley for 5-10mil (hypertheticly). That money would probably be used up just keeping the club going for a year.

Players won't want to move as they won't match or better pay (especially if sat on a nice contract with the club who wants rid). Also clubs may not want to sell / loan because they can't get in a replacement.

That said you'd think prem academy loans will be a possibility. I doubt they are on much more than 1-2k a week if 18-19. Unless they have just signed a new bumper deal.

I genuinely think it's put a few moves on hold. I would imagine it's very much going up be a couple of youngsters on loan....at best. I'm not overly critical with the global situation.

Thats an interesting point regarding loans - if Prem teams want fringe players to get experience maybe they will carry on paying the wages in full rather than have those players sit and do nothing for a season?

Can see loads of players, currently without clubs, getting very, very twitchy as their expected (!) £20-30k week Champo deal has not materialised. Wage demands towards the end of the window lowered substantially. And a lot of clubs performing "creative accounting" to try to get players in. PL aside, can't see any Championship club (apart from Derby, obviously.....) paying millions for a player. Lot of loans and PL kids.

Not too sure about this chap Buur because Wolves had
Adam Traore last week at right wingback in the 1-3 defeat by Man City.

Not sure of your point really.

Given the choice of Traore or Buur at right wing back we'd all choose Traore, I think.
That doesn't mean that Buur is no good.

To be fair, those publications no longer get scoops. Social media is where the scoops are found now, by every man and his dog.

Thats true of course, and its another reason for the imminent end of the Gazette as a newspaper.
They don’t communicate with the club as we know.
It must be some rift.
Even with some journalists leaving yhe problem seem to be still there.

Cliff Mitchell,Must be spinning in his grave.

Cliff Mitchell (who was a Sunderland fan) style reporting can still be found around the lower leagues but he'd fail today when you can watch the action within minutes of it taking place on Twitter etc.

For me the journalist should be distanced from the club and able to comment without feeling under pressure not to criticise, too many have become mouth pieces for the clubs they cover in this age of thirst for gossip and minutae from the section of football fans they pander to.

Anyway, I agree on Spence, he's not good enough if you're looking to play a flat back four, so a more traditional full back will give the squad options.

Re Cliff, what I meant was that he was given information first.
We got to see that information in the Gazette first.
If the Gazette and Boro could heal the rift that has festered far too long we could get Boro news first, knowing it was reliable either online or through its printed paper ( the latter unlikely now I know)
Instead of getting it unreliably from Spurious media and London or Manchester based rags.
