Linespersons in the PL League?

After watching the carry on tonight in the WBA v Man City game, do they actually need them in the PL? The offsides are sorted out by VAR anyway so what’s the point of them?
 
It was poor that . Feel for the defenders there but made no difference in the end why wait so long to put the flag up anyway

I didn't watch that game, but someone has to judge the ball over the line, unless that's also delegated to cameras.

If it was all judged by VAR then it becomes a TV show. Similar to strictly comes dancing or the X factor.

not seen the actual incident your going on about so can’t comment really -just thought I’d have a pop at VAR 👍

Nope!
I’ve spent quite a bit of time watching lines persona, especially during the drab Pulis/Woodgate seasons and the amount of times the linesman doesn’t flag the direction the throw until the ref has indicated is unreal......watch the match tmr, you’ll see!
