Jemma Joy - a Guisborough Cllr with ambitions to become an MP has been caught out. Calling local residents 'inbreds' that you seek to represent isn't recommended. The mask obviously slipped retrospectively, but it's a big problem as you often don't know what someone's true feelings are. Is a politician sincere or are they playing a game with a view to navigating their way up the greasy pole? Little snippets like this are obviously quite revealing.
Before Andy Preston targeted Teesside politics, numerous people had mentioned how he was someone who basically mocked the area and the people in it. He spoke of it in derogatory terms. But this all changed when he wanted to be a politician. But of course his views hadn't really changed deep down. That's why he was such a terrible mayor. He hasn't got a clue about the area or its people. But tries to present that he does through digital and social media marketing. His 'We are Parmo & Chips' campaign pretty much summed him up. Not to mention busting £600k on a fantasy office block with a helipad on top.
But back to the Lib Dems - they're a terrible political entity. Clegg & co were horrific for propping the Tories up and Swinson followed suit by facilitating Brexit and gifting the Tories a way out. The Lib Dems have played a big part in where both this country is at and has been for the last ten plus years. Jemma Joy is just another rubbish Lib Dem.
By the way, Joy calls it sarcasm. She says her friends say 'oh yeah - we're inbred'
