Love or Loathe?

No, starting a poll on loving or hating him when it's clear to everyone on this forum who follows F1 that you detest Hamilton both as a person and a driver.

Do you also have a doll you stick pins into?

I think you've gone off piste here, not sure what Zorro has said that's irked you so much??

Edit - just seen your reply to B21 😁

He will rightly go down as one of the (if not THE) greatest F1 drivers of all time.

Every single team mate he has had, he's proved to be more than better. Alonso, Kovalainen, Button, Rosberg, Bottas.

I understand why he's so disliked. Constantly moans about climate change etc and then drives an F1 car and uses a private jet....

However, based on pure ability, then you can argue he's the best.

No doubt he'll beat Schumacher's record soon enough. It's just a matter of time, not if.

He's clearly one of the best drivers of all time and at the absolute top of his game right now.

There was a bizarre narrative on a similar thread here not long ago where people were trying to make out that Rosberg had him on toast when they were in the same team. Barring one fluke season where Hamilton was extremely unlucky with reliability (and still nearly managed to win the championship) Rosbeg was no where near his level.

Schooling Alonso as a Rookie was amazing and he's only got better since.

What people think of his personality is irrelevant to his driving ability.

I don’t mind him but I find it hard to warm to him like some other champions for instance Federer, Federer is not only a great like Lewis but also very likeable.

mad with all winners you just have to respect their greatness whether you like the person or not. Another tennis star Dkojovic, faultless in terms of achievements but personality wise he’s difficult to like.

back to Lewis, it’s all relative he looks an absolute card when compared to Mika Hakkinen.

Love or Loathe him I think “slums” was just a throwaway word that we can all say and regret that would ordinarily be forgotten about but for the terminally offended on social media.

Whatever your personal thoughts on him, he has to be admired for the way he uses his position to speak out on various matters.

Does he go down as the greatest British sports person of all time? Expect by the end of his F1 career he will have smashed every record he can

A walking ego with a massively overinflated view of his own self importance
Hypocrite
Tax Avoider
Decent driver in the best car - put him in a Williams and he'd be just another driver in the pack

Not fit to be mentioned in the same breath as Senna, Schumacher etc

Like some others I wouldn't say Love or Loathe, he's like any other human really, we're all flawed and we will all do some good but we will also make mistakes and look like a d*ck at times too.

I do admire his ability though, he definitely has a skill that he's good at using. I think you can't help but admire that raw ability even if you don't warm to him as a person.

As as side note I nearly spat my tea out when reading @WeeGord post above, I though he was talking about Boris Johnson at first in full on sarcasm mode and only realised he wasn't when I got to the last line!

GOAT, and has strong opinions about the rights of minorities be it ethnic or disabilities. He is a sportsman, so his job is to win things not particularly to be a role model, but he does it anyway knowing that he is painting a target on his back for anyone who has been misled into thinking liberalism is dangerous. But that facts are the guy isn't caught out snorting coke of prossies, or burning money in front of Tramps or avoiding tax, like say Tory MPs, who really should be setting an example for the country.

I hope your monitor is waterproof (or in this instance, tea-proof) ;)

It's ok, I managed to stop myself from a full blown tea fountain and instead I had a sort of tea dribble down my chin and t-shirt. 👍

I'd like to say I don't know what you're talking about, and that I'd never partaken in such things but then that would make me a liar, the wet (cup of tea) t-shirt look is the way to go.
