Lewis Hall .... Giles Loan Replacement?

Now before people pounce on this idea and rip it to shreds let me explain...

Yes I know he was starting last night, and he has had quite a bit of first team involvement this season, but this is purely down to the 2 well established left backs being injured (Cucurella and Chilwell).

So when both of those are fit again over the summer, this lad wont get a look in.

He needs a full season of steady game time, which we can offer.

He also looks like a fantastic talent, I actually thought (bar the Martial goal when he switched off for Sancho) he was one of the more consistent players for chelsea last night, tidy on the ball and great engine, up and down the pitch all night.

Anyway - just a thought!

Can't see it when he's on the fringes of their first team
True but is that due to circumstances.

I guess its down to Chelsea, and if they can be ar5ed to properly develop a player. Or whether they are happy for him to sit in the background and get rolled out for Bristol Rovers away in the early rounds of the cup, eventually clocking up 7 sub appearances for the season 😂

I think he will need to be loaned out next season.

Next season they should have Cucurella and Chilwell fit - both are well ahead of him in the pecking order. And Chelsea are out of all European ties, so unless they have bad luck with injuries, then I don't see him competing for a first team spot, as yet.

Think Chelsea will probably want to loan him out at a higher standard of The Championship though. He's probably too good for this league.

I agree - the only flaw in my plan was if Chelsea want him to be playing regular PL, or top flight football on loan, and that is the ONLY flaw in this plan 👀

You would hope the success and style of play, as well as how well we have developed loan players this season under Carrick will go a long way. Villa will certainly have been happy, as with Wolves.

Definitely. I think we're right up there for clubs wanting to loan us their players.

I think us and Sunderland are top of the pile (in this league) when it comes to PL clubs wanting to send their younger players on loan to be developed.

We both try to play exciting, attacking, free flowing football, whilst also giving the loanees a huge opportunity.

I would hope we have less loans next season. Ideally I would think 3, a couple of decent free transfers and 3 buys for less than £7m in total.

I liked some of the alliteration last season. Archer and akpom. Ryan and Riley. Howson and Hackney. I think we really need to be looking along those lines as it was probably the main reason for our success.
