Letters of no confidence in Truss already

Surely another no confidence vote would trigger a GE? How long can we let the failures continue?
You'd think so.

But then the current PM was elected by less than 1% of the electorate and is breaking manifesto commitments left right and centre. She seems very clear there's no need for a GE though. Assume any other new leader would feel the same way.

Which is strange because prior to the last election when there was talk of confirmatory referendums etc. the right couldn't get enough of democracy. Absolutely bloody loved it, couldn't stop talking about democracy. Will of the people and whatnot.

Don't seem quite as keen on it now for some reason 🤔

Was always likely, I believe some were written on the day she was elected and only the suspension of Parliament due to the Queen's death postponed their delivery, she's way out of her depth and relying on a Cabinet of very little experience and few big characters, she's tried to prove she's not a weathervane politician by trying to be decisive, headstrong and define her own brand of leadership, but has ended up being a divisive, headcase that many of her party, especially in Parliament, don't want to lead them.

I suspect many who saw her as the continuity, place holder until Johnson was off the naughty step will see that she's not interested in playing that role and I suspect others will be disappointed at how she has cast aside policies that were integral to the manifesto that gave the Conservative's their GE victory, I think the One Nation Conservatives, in particular, are genuinely concerned of the path she is taking and mutterings of defections will begin to take shape, the fact that so many high profile figures have demurred from serving in her Cabinet is a factor and I think most importantly of all they've seen no bounce, in fact the opposite, in the polls and how wooden and poorly she comes across and realised that she's not going to attract the cult of personality Johnson voters who switched at the last GE.

Theresa May, retained the majority of the big guns in her cabinet and attempted to be a unifying figure, but she ended up been eaten alive by the voracious appetite of this split party, Truss, who has little of May's experience, compromise or political sense of being any shade of grey to suit, will either go the same way or split the Party so fiercely that instead of consuming her it will eat itself.

As others have said it's quite frightening what some will define as democracy to suit their means, how some will flip flop position to suit their own best interest and how others will do nothing but fan the flames on the Bonfire of the Decencies that Truss and co are implicit in igniting.

It's almost like it's a deliberate act of sabotage to create mayhem and short the economy.

It was rumoured that the sell-off of gold when Gordon Brown was chancellor was to stop an American Bank collapsing when they had shorted the gold price. True or not I have no idea, but it would not surprise me to find out that there is more to this latest turmoil than we've been made aware of.

I think musing that it is deliberate gives her - and her idiot of a Chancellor - credit for having a grasp that they absolutely don't.
They are sabotaging it alright, but there is no clever plan behind it.
It is like a Year 10 Economics kid coming up with policy after their first macro economics lesson.

Heard something yesterday on the news - if the £ drops below the $ the Tories will try and oust her. It's just one mess after another. This is the problem when you back a candidate that doesn't have the support of the parliamentary party.

The only way out of this is a General Election. I think if we carry on like this for much longer we'll get one.
Must be on the cards. Even someone with limited financial market knowledge like myself knows we are royally screwed on the current path we are on..
