Lessons from today (with hindsight)

When a number of players have played quite a few games this season look to use all 5 subs with subs starting at the beginning of the second half. I think we used 3 and 2 of them were near the end. Huddersfield had had more hours to rest and prepare, use subs to try and narrow the difference and keep Boro team energies up.

Take off a player if he appears injured.

Obviously some improvement on finishing required.

Focus on mental resillence a little - we have not been behind very often this season which is a good sign although for the more younger ones- some of the players confidence seemed to dip a little when went behind and suddenly our energies and tenacity dipped too after a promising start. Some players kept up the old standards but not all, all of the time.

Understand that things don't always go the way you want, learn from the experience, pick yourselves up after the setback and focus on the next game.

And celebrate that we are the mighty MFC who have scored 5 goals in the last two games.

Sign a finisher.

If out of the £70 odd million we had frittered away since relegation we had signed a competent champ level striker we'd more than likely be top now.

How much better off would we be in points, goals scored and financially if we had just kept Bamford and Stuani rather than our 'reinforcements'?

When half your team under perform you get beat. Use the experience to make sure the players know they owe the fans a performance and move on.
