Leo on Hackney and the golden thread

And explaining why he chose to put his faith in the 20-year-old, Percovich gave a typically characteristic passionate response. Praising the midfielder, he said he hoped the journey would serve to inspire others and show that dreams are possible through hard work.

Finch seems to get the headlines
Cal Kavanagh was scoring a ton of goals but it looks like he struggled at Harrogate and CW didn't like him in preseason. Deffo one we should be pushing now - key point in his career.

Is it
I noticed in his comments last night he played Hackney to show the other lads in the academy that there is a path to the first team.

This is what I was crying out for as the academy really is the jewel in our set up.
Really is it the jewel in our set up?
Or the jewel it should be?
It is very well financed - and useful from an FFP tactical perspective. c£5m per season.
£50m over a decade.

Tavernier and Gibson generated £25m pure profit.
The London scout brought in Spence so another £12.5m profit.
Reach was picked up beyond academy really, but generated £5m profit.

We have Fry on the books who has come through and the same Spence scout brought in Jones, and both have value.
It has probably just about washed its face, but in truth it has only really brought through Tav, Gibson and Fry in a decade who have real academy experiences.

He had injuries on loan at Harrogate, not sure he has quite got himself 100% right since then

wood looked terrible every time i saw him play.
Yet now he is playing pretty much every minute for a team that's currently top 6. Not good enough for us tho!!!

He did have a few shockers for us but there's definitely a player there which the management should have seen and nurtured. He was only young and getting thrown in for the odd game hear and there
