Leeds

The issue with Leeds is that they are like the Dallas cowboys here in the USA.
They think they are bigger than they are. No doubt Leeds are a big club but it guiles me when you have a huge fan base in York , for example, when they have their own professional team to follow.
That said, I agree that it's great to see Yorkshire teams/Northern teams doing well.

Not just york mate I bet the trains from red car/East Cleveland are full next season as well with the teesside whites.

Will they get the trophy on Wed? I doubt they will go fully on the beach.

Luton play Blackburn and brum v Derby (both opposition with no interest).

If we didn't get the point we needed from Cardiff and Sheff wed then we don't deserve to stay up. It would also he hollow to stay up because of wigan.

Don't really care how we stay up. If it's at the expense of Wigan due to a points deduction so be it. Rather it wasn't but I'll take it.

I won't be celebrating, because we shouldn't have been anywhere near getting relegated with the resources we've had since relegation. So it won't feel "hollow" as it's not really an achievement for a club in our position anyway. I'll just feel relieved and hopeful that this is "bottom" and we can now start an upward curve.

It really is a myth that Teesside is full of Leeds fans.
I thought that but then I went to york one Sunday and Leeds were playing and the train from thornaby was rammed, with whit me shirt wearing Leeds fans that had got on at Middlesbrough. So sadly it’s really not.

Be even worse now

And don’t forget their academy based in the Boro either.

I remember being on the train once and stopping at Whitby on my home to see my mother in Yarm. The train was packed with Boro fans getting on, and who were already on the train from the outlying areas. Some would say this was all Leeds territory, so it goes both ways.

Living just outside York and in my experience I wouldn't say Leeds are much, if any more popular than anyone else. Lots of man utd, Liverpool etc. See a fair few Boro tops too though. I'd say they're common enough that seeing one doesn't really require a Teesside nod.

Admittedly I'm sure I'll see more Leeds shirts out and about now though.

Whitby is pretty solidly Leeds. Unfortunately. Since ´86 there are more and more Boro but much less than Leeds. Annoying given Boro is only 25 miles and Leeds 75 ish.

I was in Loftus Saturday and saw a few Leeds shirts. I noticed one house which had a Leeds flag hanging from the window.

Loads of Leeds here, just outside York. Few Boro in the village though, at least another 4 families I’m aware of.

Liverpool probably next best supported.
