Leeds

Well I'm not getting a ticket then was praying for some to be left by 3pm 😅. The system is an utter joke we have implementend. When friends on 155 points I'm on 169 was waiting for 3pm to get ticket with him but they've sold out. Why couldn't I not of gotten two tickets for him :(.
Because he did not have enough points. It's simple maths or if you are American math.

There can't be that many Gold card holders left in actuality. I've had a SC every season at the Riverside except when I was in Australia, which means I've had one now for 19 years unbroken, and 8 years before that, and the last 18 seasons have basically been scrapping to get in the play offs or (much more rarely) scrapping for survival in the PL (badly).

I think I should be upgraded to the same status as Nobby, Coluka and Indeedido as I want to be included in their special Gold card IM conversations on here.

Or are we gonna have this chairman's drink thing forever? Surely it would make sense to just have a 20+, 10+, 5+, 1+ system soon or whatever. Maybe it should be introduced next season just in time for me to reap maximum benefits. That said, I wouldn't say no to a free pint still.

Club is getting smarter.
I tried to use my Dad and Uncles Gold Card ID to get a ticket for my lads who are only Free pint ticket holders and it would not let me buy adult tickets only OAP’s pointing out what their ages would be 87 and 81…my lads are only 28 and 26.

Fair enough if you ask me.
I was able to get mine legitimately, but they are rightly closing loopholes.

Time for an audit of Gold Cards - most will have been passed on and not being used by the original holders, and they need to be removed from them (y)
Why? (even though I presume that your comment is tongue in cheek), but do you actually know of any instances where this has happened?
Personally, I wouldn’t think the club would allow this to happen, especially if there has been a change in entitlement from adult to concession status.
It wouldn’t bother me if they audited my Gold SC status if it was only to prove a point, and allay any concerns of non Gold card holders.

The main issue is the fact that all levels are a closed shop and it is significantly dependent on age. I got my first ST when the corners were filled in, I was on a waiting list before that. I joined the waiting list when I finished uni, so couldn’t have got one before. I can never get gold card status and as such the higher points they reward you with. My son has had a ST for 6/7 years now he is 11 - he can only dream of getting the points I get, never mind a gold card. I have to wait for tickets to go down to his level 160+ before I can buy.

It’s ok saying Bristol city has gone to general sale so it’s not a closed shop, but there are reasons that some games are more popular than others. I effectively start 20 points less than gold cards as I have to wait for my son to get tickets. That’s 10 away games just to catch up. If all the games we want to go to sell out before getting to our level it just gets further away.

I also agree that the people who travel to most away games should get priority, I’ve no issue with that.

For the record we did Bristol a couple of years ago - great trip.

Possibly ;)

But just highlighting another of the many anomalies that the points system has ........ and yes, I do know a couple of instances where it's happened.

For me, the fairest system, to avoid the closed shop of a privileged few ...

a) the home season card should just give a guaranteed, cheap, same seat for all home matches

b) points system should be binned - away match tickets sale open to 1. all season ticket holders, 2. members, 3. general sale

c) the away season ticket should be open to everybody or nobody

.... but those that benefit from the current system will stamp their little feet and throw toys out of pram if it was ever suggested

This is the issue I have with the system only able to go to the far away games as gold season ticket holders gobble up all the Sunderland and Leeds Game allocations. Add into the fact for these I demand games the club reserve tickets for special guests. The system also heavily incentives you to buy tickets for every game and sell them on if you can't attend to maintain your status and keep above the folks below. The folk on lower points can never catch up
