With Warnock's admission that he wants strikers this summer, Boro's name crops up with just about every report of a striker being wanted in the Championship. Stoke City striker Lee Gregory is the latest such centre-forward to be linked, with the 32-year-old leaving the Potters this summer at the end of his contract. Gregory spent the second half of last season on loan at Derby County and they and Boro are said to be interested in signing him, though reports claim recently relegated Sheffield Wednesday lead the race. Gregory scored past Boro in Derby's 2-1 win at Pride Park in February and Warnock admitted after that his side lacked the same attacking threat as their opponents in the game. That goal was one of three that Gregory netted for the Rams before injury cut his season short in April.
