LEE CATTERMOLE

Might have been from this

The club are said to be happy with the quartet currently taking care of first-team affairs, with Lee Cattermole earning praise from many inside Rockliffe. The former academy graduate is currently the under-18's manager and has impressed since being handed the role earlier in the year.

His coaching standards are said to match the kind of standards he set during his playing days, with many within the club particularly impressed this week with how he's moved up to working with the senior players, earning their respect in the manner that he has been getting his points across.

While not believed to be ready yet, there were even suggestions that his work this week has put him in the thinking as a serious contender to be a future Boro manager in his own right sometime in the future.
I read that last week and assumed Cattermole had hacked the gazette website

It would be like going to Marks & Spencer's to buy a steak, and ending up at Aldi buying a burger!!
I think it would be more like hearing about hiring Felix Magath and then taking on a young Gareth Southgate. Similar even to dreaming of Giovanni van Bronckhorst then hearing that Jonathan Woodgate was the outstanding candidate.

The good news is Gareth Southgate was actually a really good manager, after a summer of turmoil the global financial meltdown scuppered our January transfer plans.

Jonathan Woodgate struggled with only the likes of Robbie Keane to lean on.. Bournemouth called upon his services to see them right and I don’t think it will be the last we see of him in managerial terms.

I’m happy to get behind Lee Cattermole if that’s the route we choose to go down.. the backroom staff needs to be right tho. Interesting to see what comes of it..

Again gibbo is on record as saying that there would always be a role for Steve at this club.

Madness if true though

From 2017

Speaking ahead of Sunday's visit of Manchester United, Gibson told the club's official website, www.mfc.co.uk: "Steve will have full autonomy as first-team coach. I hope he's here this time next year or the year after.
"He has a lot of qualities. He is a very good coach, a deep thinker, loads of experience, knows this club, is a man of integrity and the players trust and like him.
"I've known him a long, long time and he's a smashing lad. I think he can be the glue to unify us completely."
Agnew has little time in which to make an impact with Boro languishing inside the Premier League relegation zone, but Gibson is confident he has enough to work with.
He said: "I think the squad is good enough to stay up, but it has been a difficult period. Perhaps we are low on confidence and it's Steve's job to raise that."

I don’t know what will happen, but I think deep down those of us that have followed this club for all these years we all know where Gibson is concerned nothing is off the table.

I don't think there's any evidence of Scott doing a good job yet, but I wouldn't blame him for quitting if we appoint a 34 year with almost no coaching experience whatsoever as our manager when we're in dire form and dangling above the relegation zone.

Seriously I think that would be it for me. We can’t put a new structure in place then just go with the usual jobs for the boys. It’s a joke. Can’t be happening surely?

I just despair at what is happening to our club in front of our eyes. An absolute shambles at the moment. Other than the desperate or unemployed who on earth would want this job with the awful structure of a chairman who doesn’t seem bothered anymore and a hierarchy who in signing terms don’t seem to know their backside from their elbow. Deeply depressing

If this ends up happening then I think this is further evidence of Gibsons attitude of "I don't need to do things like everyone else, I'm the best chairman in the Football league, and I'll do it my way."
Which is why we've had 15 years of failure.
