Leaving England

Finally you answered the question! Thanks for that. It was a long road of petty insults and questioning others thoughts but you got there. Glad you like England. Hope you survive the depression

My god, you just cant help yourself.
You enjoy the 'depression' too because it sounds like your bird wont let you go anywhere.

6 months here, 6 months Thailand. Go there for our winter and hopefully rent out our house , the rent hopefully paying for all monthly costs of rent and living there.
Spent a lot of time in Thailand over the years and as much as I love the country and the people and planned on doing
something similar in retirement. My choice these days would be the Philippines.

The whole experience blew my mind and much cheaper than Thailand.
The people, food, scenery and pristine beaches were amazing.

Met a lot of Englishmen there who were married to some of the most beautiful women I'd ever set eyes on.
A few of them owned some of the bars and restaurants that I ventured into and some also owned their own homes
and had retired there due to them being married to a Philippino.

It's worth a thought for anyone that is planning on moving overseas.

Red blood, my wife is Thai so I guess I’ve no chance of any other country! She has a nice family ( not dozens of them!), her brother is a jewellery manufacturer so they certainly aren’t on the lookout for money!!

Apparently the ladies in Thailand / Philippines are really keen on Western men. My Mrs uncle is pushing 50 and has never had a girlfriend in the UK but he goes over there every year or two and always ends up with a girlfriend whilst he’s there. Usually they even stay in touch for a while once he returns.

Hi Nosmo,
Lucky you.

I wouldn't hesitate for a moment when the time is right for you.
From the first time I set foot in Thailand back in the early eighties when the only way of getting to Koh Samui
was by way of boarding a local fishing boat, I fell in love not only with the country and it's customs and culture
but the wonderful warm and welcoming Thai people.

My last post wasn't directly aimed at you, more towards posters that want out but not sure where.

Heam,
Money speaks all languages and you don't need to be good looking or what we deem to be good looking to have a relationship.

One of the old guys that I used to work with had a similar thing going on like your Mrs uncle.
He used to return to Thailand every year for his holidays to the same woman and her children.
I used to question him about not meeting other women rather than the same one. His simple reply was that
he had a ready made family over there and that he felt appreciated.
He knew full well that this same woman had several affairs going on during the year but when he was there, she was his.
He told me that when he goes back he buys them a new fridge or tv or whatever is needed and pays for all the food etc and
actually lives in the house with them.
He showed me many photos of her and her family and she was beautiful and many years younger than him but the smiles
on her and her kids faces told me that they actually did love having him around.

Yeah I’m only joking mate.

Big believer in ‘each to their own’ and ‘do what makes you happy’ etc.

Certainly wouldn’t mind living in Thailand / Philippines myself 👍

New Zealand have discovered a number of cases of the UK variant from UK returnees in managed isolation - the news has come out today here. The MI units are highly effective in protecting the country here but there are calls now to stop for now anybody wanting to return to NZ from the UK whilst figures back in the UK are big. The concern is that as this UK variant is highly contagious there is an increased chance the virus will escape from the controlled units. The caution here is incredible and correct.
