Learning to play the guitar

Any tips for good Youtube channels or apps etc?
Get a a mentor or teacher. Ultimately learning guitar is a solo affair but to keep your interest and energy levels high after the first few months, it's useful to be able to discuss, practice and jam with others of the same interest.

Most people put down the guitar after a couple of months. It's a relatively easy instrument to play but incredibly difficult to master.

Just received one for Christmas and have no prior knowledge. Paid for the yearly Fender Play app as it was half price and enjoying it so far.

Could start another thread for this, but lets do it here....

Whats your guitar history, this is mine:

First guitar Old Telecaster 44 years ago - wish I had that now, still have the rest
cheap Yamaha acoustic
Old cheap Strat 30 years ago
Ibanez Jo Satriani custom
Gibson Les Paul Standard
Gibson acoustic (best guitar I’ve ever played)
Still play the last three regular-ish

Here's my guitar history in a picture. The only one missing is a Guild Starfire that I sold on. Have kept everything else since I got my first proper guitar, the Aria Pro 2, when I was 17/18ish.
