I just love the disrespect. “Putting the cones out,” just smacks of misplaced arrogance, entitlement, self-delusion. I’d love to see the people who use this phrase as an insult take their coaching qualifications and then put on training sessions for professional athletes. They’d last about four minutes before being laughed off the field and frogmarched off the premises.

Add to "not even good enough for non-league" and "robbing a living" as catchphrases used by the large section of our fanbase that are absolutely toxic.

It was a joke. Tongue in cheek. He was spotted at one of the games doing this for the pre match warm up drills.

I'm a big fan of Grant, love to see him progress - at Boro - as a coach 👍

No offence meant.🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ll admit I used this to refer to Agnew but it more a refer to the monumentally crazy idea to trust our prem future to a man that even now is Steve Bruce no 2.

I remember before Jonathan Woodgate got the Boro job folks were clamouring for the Cowley brothers.. ‘perfect’ ‘just what we need’ etc etc..

They ended up going to Huddersfield where as we got ‘stuck’ with Jonathan Woodgate.. ‘jobs for the boys” ‘typical’ etc etc

The Cowley brothers with a lot more managerial experience than Woodgate did absolute dog Todd for Huddersfield.. they got fired and Huddersfield finished behind us.

No one speaks about that do they.. none of those fans come out and say Jonathan Woodgate with his complete lack of experience did better than the Cowley Brothers.. I bet if one of them was named first team coach folks would be going crazy over that particular masterstroke!!

Grant McCann, Lee Bowyer, Gerhard Struber, Pep Clotet, Nathan Jones all finished behind Boro in Woodgate’s first season..

Grant doesn't always come across as the most articulate human being I've ever met.

His blatant warning to Joey Barton during a game at Turf Moor was most interesting. Barton whizzed round saw who it was and just got on with the game. At the end of one Riverside warm - up he just casually walked across the field flicking the ball from one foot to the other no errors over 75 yards. As a pro footballer he has a lot to impart to others .......... they have to listen and understand

It's the anti-intellectual, anti-expert world we live in. Where anyone on the internet despite never reading a textbook can claim that they know more than people who have dedicated their lives to learning a specific field.

It’s mad how much his hair has changed since leaving us.

Grew it out from a number 1 all over when he was here, now he’s back he’s gone grey.

Says it all about being connected with Boro.

Reminds me of the anti-vax lot… after a 30 minute read about how vaccines and vaccine testing works on Wikipedia, they are suddenly better informed than the worlds leading scientists who have dedicated their lives to the subject.

They think that not agreeing with what the experts are telling them, is somehow a sign of greater intelligence.
