Labour wishes it was only a million miles away from government.

The Labour party are "almost" as complicit as the Tories are, in the current fiasco this country is currently experiencing.

Just of an interest what do people seriously think would bring down the tories. It seems fairly widely accepted that the Iraq invasion and global financial crisis did for Labour, what will it take to bring this shower down who have been in charge nearly as long now as the previous Labour government (I include the coalition debacle as a tory government).

Individual polls are headline grabbing but to get a true sense of the state of the nation you need a poll of polls with each poll weighted for demographics, the track record of the polling company for producing reliable polls, its sample size etc.

That being said, I assume the US version of, YouGove get a B+ from 538 for their accuracy, which puts them towards the top of all the ones they analyse:

It's a real puzzle; Food and fuel shortages, 130,000 dead, corrupt and lying, yet people still think Boris is a good egg cause he used to be funny on Have I Got News For You!

I haven't got a clue.

Anyone still supporting this shower bar the tiny proportion who can legitimately, see themselves benefitting under these crooks and selfishly don't care about anyone else, has to be unbelievably thick though.

It's now the only rational explanation. The thick man of Europe.

I seriously can’t believe a majority of people would say they are content with the way this Government operates and conducts itself.
Labour need to be trusted in Scotland again to make any sort of pitch for a majority Govt.
Starmer has a long way to go, but I hope he walks the talk and grows.
I have nothing but contempt for Johnson.

The majority of people think Brexit is a mess (over 50%). The majority of people think the government is performing badly (over 50%). The polls are taking the Tories in the right direction as people realise this.

Yeah the worse this government gets the more it's all labours fault
To the average Joe soap labour aren't an attractive alternative, the political sophisticates on here can Google data to show where the conservatives are failing but most people aren't that attentive to policies. Labour are seen as the party of minorities and minority causes, Starmer doesn't have a strong enough image to catch people's attention.

The thing is, the average Joe Soap must realise that Johnson lies when he opens his mouth. That he is only interested in himself. That 1,000s upon 1,000s of Covid deaths were preventable. That our economy as a result of Brexit and the pandemic is f*cked way beyond that of who we see as our main European competitors. That he will happily sell NI down the river to suit his own narrow interests...shall I go on?

You don't have to be politically savvy to establish the man is quite simply a disgrace to his position
