The point you raise FC about stiffer penalties and enforcement only works if you have a police force to actually enforce the legislation, which we are sadly lacking.

That’s why it’s so vague so they can blame others for the fiasco and can’t police any strict rules with no police.
Here in France I went in to the supermarket the other day and forgot to pick my mask up off the seat of the car. A member of staff stopped me, oh sch1t and I went and got my mask. Had I kicked up a fuss like pillocks in the UK the Gendarmes would have been there, fine on the spot, done. It’s not you should do this over here, it’s you will do this or these are the consequences.

The glaring fact that people are missing is that Rishi hasn't announced any further extension of the furlough scheme for hospitality workers.
The country cannot afford to shut that sector down again, financially and socially. The government cannot throw hundreds of thousands of out of work with no viable reasoning or compensation. If they do that again we wills eye civil unrest the likes of which will never have been seen before.

I've so read that track and trace was finding most cases were actually been transmitted to other people in homes and private dwellings and NOT pubs, workplaces and shops.

We'll see no civil unrest. As a population we are too placid.

I agree though that they can't just shut it all back down without some kind of additional furlough. If the rates continue to rise they will have to do it though.

You take people's ability to put food on the table and roofs over their family's heads mate through no fault of their own, using questionable 'science' trust me we will.

97% of virus spread is indoors I just heard on the Beeb. So maybe folk on beaches doesn't matter. It didn't make rates rise at the time - nor did the BLM protests.

I've seen that happen to a couple of million already and we've seen no protests or violence. I think though Randy that a bit of civil unrest might be a good thing and shake this Government up a bit.

It's coming, this weekend in London shall be a interesting snapshot of potential violence kicking off if the met send riot police rushing into innocent peaceful protestors again.

Is there a protest planned? Will be interesting after the measures are announced today.
 
Social unrest is something the Government will welcome as a distraction and an excuse to introduce further restrictions that have nothing to do with pandemics or the spread of disease, I think if we go down that route at the moment we are in real danger of giving Johnson and Cummings total control and State of Emergency powers which would shut down all opposition. Johnson is a bully and would no doubt use as much force as possible against quelling a serious civilian uprising.

Yes but all that lot wont have just carried on just like that outside and the alleged 3% that will have caught it outside will be merrily spreading it as they head back indoors and don't follow the rules then.

It's the mentality of those pictured more than that actual scene thats the issue.

There is. By the same groups that have protested peacefully the last few months.

Of course the media only reports of the minority causing trouble but that happens at any protest.

Where did Patel get to with banning anyone who wants to protest? Initially aimed at Extinction Rebellion I think,
 
So does anyone know when pubs are actually stopping serving with the 10pm limit.

Customers have to be out and pub shut by 10 but is there a fixed time they have to close the bars???
