Labour Party purge/staff cuts.

I really don't know what you are alluding to here; perhaps you can point me to which posts contain nastiness on my part.

'you've pinned your colours to the zionist mast'.

This kind of assertion comes with quite a number of unsavoury connotations these days.

This is your attempt to paint me as something I'm not, but you'd like me to be because it eases cognitive dissonance for people who have a narrative of the world that is more binary than nuanced, if you can firmly square someone away in the camp of the enemy.

This is something that happens on the far Left and the far Right, which is why on some levels there is very little difference between them.

It is perfectly possible to have a view that Israel has a right to exist and defend itself and that it is also an utterly disgusting apatheid system that they impose on the palestinian people. Similarly, it is perfectly possible to think that the majority of the PLP acted disgracefully towards Corbyn between 2015-2017, that some continued to 2017-19, but most actually wound their necks in and stopped opposing him because they had prejudged him as useless or likely to impose far left ideology, while at the same time also believe that Corbyn and co were useless and acted disgracefully at times as well.

I'm actually listening to a podcast about the Eastern Front in WW2 right now. There were some Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians who fought for the Germans and some who fought for the Russians, each largely because they had hatred and legitimate grievances against the other side. Those legitimate grievances should not prevent coming to a more balanced and correct view that Hitler and Stalin were BOTH c**ts.

Well he did conceal a £50,000 donation to his leadership challenge until after the results were announced, and it is a lot of money to lay down for no return.

They are getting a return, he is VISIBLY tackling antisemitism in the Party.

Unless they disagree with him or back Corbyn's stance on Palestine, then they get kicked out of the party.

RLB was sacked for liking an article that her friend had written in which she criticised the Israeli security forces and US police. The article contained no anti-Semitism.

Rachel Reeves was promoted shortly after this tribute to a raging jew hater and Hitler admirer.

“I asked Rebecca Long-Bailey to step down from the shadow cabinet for sharing the article,” Starmer said. “I didn’t do that because she is antisemitic, I did it because she shared the article which has got, in my view, antisemitic conspiracy theories in it.

My primary focus is on rebuilding trust with the Jewish communities. I didn’t think sharing that article was in keeping with that primary objective.”

 Here we go again. The left are terrible and the same as the far right.

Did I say ‘left’ or ‘far left’?

Did I say exactly the same or have some similarities?

People who are very ideologically driven often share similarities even when the ideologies themselves are very different. Other examples can be with religious groups. The Westboro Baptist church and the Taliban might be completely opposed to each other, but if you are homosexual you won't notice much difference.

Do you not think perhaps this exact description could be applied to centrists also though @Lefty? Consider the stuff flung at Corbyn and the left of the party over the last 6 years. Racist, anti semite, Czechoslovakian spy, IRA terrorist sympathiser, Putin stooge, etc, etc.

It doesn't make a lot of difference really does it? Given the people in charge of the party now are the ones quoted in the leaked doc as regarding anyone left of Brown as a wild eyed Trot lunatic?

I never thought he was any of those things, but one of weaknesses to me was his London centric power base. The PMQs mentioning Madge from Dorset should have been a one hit wonder. He just came across to be as a prat. Only a 1% prat compared to BJ though.

Smoke Without Fire: The Myth of a ‘Labour Antisemitism Crisis’

Dont swallow the myth there is one homogenous "Jewish community" and that The Borad of Deputies or the Jewish Chronicle represent all Jews.

The fact is, the prevailing narrative in Starmers Labour Party is that "real" Jews support the Zionist Israel Apartheid State - any Jew who supports the rights of Palestinians has been [and continues today] to be labeled "anti-semitic" and expelled. So to be a [real?!] "Jew" - you have to support the occupation and destruction of Palestine!

The authority which Starmer allows to dictate its support for Israeli Apartheid, by banning debate and expelling anti-racists and Jewish members, is not "anti-semitic" - quite the opposite: it conflates criticism of Israeli racist laws and occupation with being anti - Jew. It believes that if you dont support Israel - you are the "wrong type of Jew" - which in itself is anti-semitic.

Look no further for a hater of [non-zionist] Jews than Neil Coyle:

Jewish Voice for Labour is not a "Communist" organistion - it was set up to provide a voice for those who oppose the Racist Israeli regime and give Jews the opportunity to be heard.

Meet Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi - a third generation holocaust survivor and member of Jewish Voice for Labour. Far more able than I to explain....

Roofie, you and l are at opposite ends of this argument. We will never meet in the middle. It's probably an age thing. To me what is happening in Palestine is wrong. We need a two nation state. But if I were a Jew I would not budge an inch on Jerusalem, or trust or believe anything the West said.

The link below is an interesting read from a Jewish perspective.
