Knutsford and Lymm

Having to relocate over there, and our initial thoughts are these two towns,
any one out there or any one with guidance, areas to avoid etc?

Used to work in Kuntsford for a couple of years - it's a great town with some very decent pubs, places to eat etc.

You will come across plenty of footballers and their families as well as Mark Radcliffe who also lives in Knutsford.

I have been in Knutsford a couple of times recently. Very Cheshire/footballers wives ... but Tatton Park on the doorstep and brilliant location for travel options (motorways, rail, airport etc). The down side to that is aircraft noise at busy periods. I'd be happy living there though.

I worked over there for a while. Both are nice, I could imagine Lymm perhaps being a quieter and nicer place to live perhaps (Knutsford is nice but gets more visitors).

Try Mobberley nearby. Nice and quiet and you can get some some enormous houses for what you’d pay for a 3-bed semi in other areas.

It IS very quiet though so depends what you’re after. I know the area well though so let me know if any questions.

Spent a year working at Barclays so stayed in and around Knutsford. It's great, some good eateries and bars. Some nice quiet villages, as said above Mobberleys nice and I quite like Wilmslow, decent night out.

Styal and Morley Green are nice too and if you want bang for buck but not too far out of Manchester but close to Knutsford, Heald Green isn't bad too.

Obviously Lymm is nice, but expensive.

We've looked at most of the places east of Knutsfordand dismissed them for various reasons, Poynton is nice but very little comes in the market. What about West of Lymm , Thelwall and Grappenhall looks nice but it does look like the urban sprawl of Workington is overtaking all the smaller villages. We were shocked by the prices but we need to be near our Daughter in Sale. We moved out of Boro 7 years ago into North Yorkshire where the prices are not cheap but not touching £500K for a 2 or 3 bed bungalow as is common over there.

They're building a lot of new property in Woodford.
Ashley, south of Altrincham just the other side of the M56, is nice.

I actually quite like Poynton and I know it very well. Bit far out for me, but its decent.

How close to Sale do you want to be, and do you prefer quiet/rural or 'plenty going on'? Knutsford is pretty good if you want a bit of both.

Timperley is ok.

Hale is nice but again, very expensive.
