A bit of a potted history and a hint of the future.
It will be interesting to see how the relationship between him and NW develops. It bit of a firey one l think!

How it will go is..... Kieran will spend more and more time with Mr Gibson talking about developing the club and Mr W will agitate the **** out of him moaning about squad depth. Mr G will retire off Mr W and Kieran will employ a forward thinking manager for the club.

P.S. I love Warnock for now ;)

The relationship will run until the end of this season, when NW will retire and Scott will help select his replacement.

the only fire could be in jan over a difference of opinion on any transfers

guess the relationship between scott and gibbo is more important than between scott and warnock to a certain extent.

Hopefully this guy is allowed to run the club as he sees fit with gibbo's blessing and managers/head coaches don't go around him and direct to gibbo to get what they want or the alternative that gibbo decides he wants a particular signing and gets him without scott's input.

I kind of hope this means gibbo is going to be more hands off with the day-to-day running of the club and the head of football and CEO have the authority to do things as they see fit - can't see that being the case this season as warnock seems to have too good of a relationship with gibson for him to start going through scott but longer-term I'd hope that is how it would work. Otherwise its a pointless move and destined not to work.

Comes over as a bit of a hard case ... is this the first move to address the post Warnock era, will Blackie and Ronnie stay? Interesting times.

I like his breadth and depth of experience. He appears a dedicated type as well. He will have contacts. Also willing to go out of his comfort zone.

I have been concerned that players have been bought and sold recently and in the past without involving the manager enough and this link person who has the ear of the Chairman and the manager could help improve transfers and help keep key people involved.

Hi Windy.
Posted the Gazette article earlier.
No duplication intended.
Hadnt seen the video.
Included an "All in Yellow" Canaries Kiernan Scott podcast. (y)

Let's hope he stays a while or at least shares his knowledge. He's had a few jobs in his time. He seems very ambitious. Let's hope he's a big success at Boro!

It's an approach I've been crying out for for a long time. I'm also impressed with the calibre of appointee - Norwich's set up has generally worked well in recent years.

The key for me is time - this is a strategic appointment and should be accompanied by a long-term strategy which we do not deviate from.

I didn't know he had connections with Bournemouth etc as I didn't know about his full history but it's not surprising.

Certainly an interesting new step and a big one we had to take.

I am looking forward to how it develops, more importantly how he works with Warnock's replacement. It is a reach to say the least, I'd love it if we brought in Eddie Howe to work at the club with all the up-and-coming talent and whatever remains from the signings we've just made, going ahead.

I'm sure Howe will be well out of our reach, though still eager to find out who will take the reigns next. Maybe they already have an idea .. what's the chances Warnock would change his mind about retiring if we were to achieve the unexpected and go up this season??

I wonder if we'll break with tradition and appoint a manager who is actually in a job and doing well somewhere? Will Scott have enough muscle behind the scenes to say, that's our guy Gibbo, I want him in charge?

Or alternatively, who are the best and brightest young forward thinking managers who are likely to not have a job in June......

🤷‍♂️

Eddie Howe is not currently in a job, is he?? I remember noise about him taking over at Celtic etc but I really didn't keep up to speed. I never have an eye on SPL news anyway :ROFLMAO:

This is a really saleable job now though, to a good young manager. Our facilities, the club history, etc .. As it stands the likes of Howe may be available come June time.. I did mention there's no chance of us attracting the likes of him, but hell, why not?? It's just one of many guys who would be worth considering if he is still without a club after this season's done.

... I just read a bit of gossip that EH has turned down numerous jobs recently and he is currently holding out to take over at another club. You never know, perhaps we have sounded it out with him already 😁

It could be another AK-style appointment, even?? Interesting times.

I was wrong about Garry Monk so perhaps my EH suggestion is equally idiotic :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Joking aside, I think the future is bright for the Boro. Haven't felt that way for some time. Oph! #UTB

Maybe waiting for Brighton, Bournemouth or Southampton to come up?

Obviously Arsenal will need a new manager in a matter of weeks as well.

Yeah, Arsenal are a clip at the moment and that has got to be the first firing of the season. I don't think their fanbase will be satisfied though unless they appoint a European, well-decorated manager next to replace Arteta. Howe wouldn't surprise me, though. God knows who they are going to reach out to if Arteta gets the bullet so early in the season. They've spent so much and yielded so little over the past few years, I'm sure they have outspent the likes of Utd, City??

But aye, Howe could easily walk into any of those other jobs also, at some point. That's why if we did acquire his services it would also be a big statement from us. Hard to see him still being sat available come next Summer.

Re-assuring article that.
Gossip fills a vacuum and a lot has been said about player recruitment lately
