Keeping fit if you self isolate - cycling

Is that as a result of a potential captive audience or have they been on for a while?

I myself was thinking that if we do go on lockdown then the empty roads might be ideal for the solo cyclist.

I did a 40 miler on Friday and didn’t see another cyclist the whole trip. What I will miss however is the traditional cafe stop which is part of the pleasure for me.

I would imagine that cycling or running outdoors would be better than being cabined up with other people who may have the virus.

There must be a low risk of non-contact outside activities in more rural / semi-rural areas. Big towns and cities may be different.

Agreed, cycling must be one of the best things one can do at the moment. You're not in an enclosed space etc and I think the mental health benefits must be great.
The only downside for some of us would be the grim realty of what we look like in lycra

Had a walk down the river yesterday, very quiet. You won't catch it on the Moors either, or down the beach when this wind calms down a bit.

Plenty of indoor exercises to do without using equipment as well. No need to buy a bike etc.
