Just Written to my MP Nadine Dorries

I have just written to my local MP, Nadine Dorries. I am not really expecting a reply, but should I recieve one I will post it here.

Good morning Ms Dorries,

I write to you to place on record my disappointment in the government’s handling of Dominic Cummins ignoring of the lockdown rules with respect to his trip to Durham and subsequent trip to Barnard Castle.

He clearly broke government legislation, regardless of what we are told by either Mr Cummins or Mr Johnson. I read the legislation, to be sure of what it contained prior to writing this email. Mr Cummins was allowed, by the then legislation to Travel to “Access critical public services, including childcare” Given that neither Mr Cummins niece, nor his sister are public services, he clearly contravened legislation.

His trip to Barnard Castle on his wife’s birthday is another contravention of the then legislation. What is a bigger concern around this trip is twofold. Firstly, we the electorate are expected to believe this nonsense story about testing his eyes and ability to drive to London. This has since been supported by senior ministers. Secondly, he used the “caring father” narrative to support an illegal trip to visit his parents. Why, when Mr Cummins ability to drive was impaired, would you take a 4 year old in the car with you?

I, along with many other voters, find this treatment by the Conservative government to be deeply offensive given the sacrifice made by people who have lost loved ones and were unable to be with those loved ones in their last moments. Loved ones were left to die alone. Partners have been left to mourn alone.

I would be very interested to hear your opinions on this matter because as things stand I could not, in all good conscience, support you in any future elections. My refusal for support is largely to do with your silence on this matter. I would be very grateful to hear your thoughts on both the actions of Mr Cummins and the support for Mr Cummins given he is an unelected employee.

Good letter, hope you get a reply that your letter deserves, he is a snake, a lying, ignorant, hypercytical selfish man

It is something we can all do. At the very least if several million emails land on MP's desks, they would have to act surely!

I’ve sent one to Sunak - I’m not expecting a reply. Apparently all Tory MPs are being absolutely swamped with angry emails - quelle surprisè

Laughing you inspired me, just popped this off to mine

Hi Jacob,

This is a first for me. I have never written to an mp before. I have to say this whole Dominic Cummings debacle is one of the most embarrassing Political charades that has played out in public.

I cant believe one of the most powerful people in the world listened to the eyesight story and said to his adviser don’t worry I’ve got your back, publicly backed him, then sent him out to give that account himself and think that the British public would endorse this.

This is against the code of conduct for special advisers, why were the public allowed to listen to that nonsense?

I am also disappointed that I have seen you retweet ‘party lines’ praising what Mr Cummings had said, and for everyone to move on, when the British public recognises it was absolute codswallop.

No remorse, no apology and Mr Cummings and Mr Johnson held your constituents with contempt. I hope you change your stance.

You have recently posted a speech on mental well-being recently, given the sacrifices people have made, effecting their well-being, I thinks an insult that you say you are promoting well-being as your actions contradicts this. You are young, so it could be down to naivety, but i hope you can reflect and see you are wrong

It certainly looks like one rule for us and one rule for Mr Cummings

Hey Gaz - please tell me that "Jacob" is Rees-Mogg - PLEASE !!!

If so, I'd love to see the response

Well he can get to fukk if he thinks that charade was a "full and frank" explanation.
He also needs to learn a bit of basic English grammar, including how sentences are formed and the use of apostrophes. And I'll bet his 'individual' replies are all based on a template.

He has been careful with his wording there, hasn't he? Not surprising in the circumstances.

I've got to say, to be fair to Mr Gibson, I've had some dealings with him recently and he's been very good. I'm not a fan of the Tories, but he seems decent, intelligent and hard working.

Starmer is my MP and a mate lives a few doors down From him. I won’t write but will ask her to shout my comments over the back fence! One thing I am puzzled by though, Boris said that a lot of the reporting was “palpably false”. I hope someone asks him to explain why he said that, at the daily briefing, as all of the allegations appear to be true as explained by Cummings.
